Tom, of Santa Fe had one mission this summer. To descend 1,000,000 feet of downhill at Angelfire Bike Park. This is one of the hardest challenges you can attempt on a mountain bike. He accomplished it before any other rider in the U.S. - a few weeks before his 68th birthday.

Tom has always kept an active lifestyle and has further benefited from his cancer going into remission. After he hit his one million target, his next plan is to get on his way to 1,100,000 feet. Tom will continue to shred and inspire mountain bikers around the world!

Hahaha I never read a "I'm to old to jump comment" on PB but hundreds of comments like "if this is mtb what do i do" or "I can bunny hop a log on a trail" Just saying...

Some might take those "if this is mtb, what do I do" or "I can bunnyhop a log on the trail" comments with a bit of humour. Btw I CAN bunnyhop a log on the trail - just saying...

I'm pushing 40 and my wife constantly asks, "Don't you think you're a little old to be jumping a bicycle?"

My answer now... "Hell no! Look at Tom!"

I hear this one every week, especially after big injuries. My retort is simply, "I guess you must really like those guys with beer guts that sit around all weekend and watch TV on their ass!"

Wife: Why would you want to do that? Can you give me a list of reasons? I can give you a list of reasons not to do that.
Me: It is awesome!
Wife: That's all?!?!
Me: That's all I need.

 Awesome! Great job, Tom.

**I think there might be a typo in the article, PB. I don't think you meant to say that now that he's descended 1 million (1,000,000) feet, he now plans to beat that by 110 times that amount (110,000,000). Maybe 1,100,000?

Roll model! I want to roll like Tom at 67 and beyond. I'm still fighting that urge to just become a NetFlix zombie. Way to go!

Mega fucking props to him. Inspirational to know I still have at least 27 years or riding ahead of me if I keep it together. Thanks Tom!

I look at my parents and most other people in their 60's and 70's and I just shake my head. They eat like crap, don't exercise, take all kinds of pills, and are sitting around waiting for the end. It doesn't have to be like that. Tom- I truly appreciate people like you to remind me that life is awesome for as long as you want it to be.
