@rideonjon: good call! However, note the absence of backpacks in the photographs. Lack of water bottles or hydration packs. Nothing but clothes worn while pushing up tall mountains in fall!
They definitely had some form of a sag wagon (horse, moto, heli or Donk-ay) that was with them as they climbed and descended. So while this makes for more of a "photo shoot" or advert than a real sole-supported adventure, the finished product is still just as inspirational!
First off I want to say, nice breasts and what an inspirational vid! Secondly, is that a collapsible wood burning stove? If so, where might I find one (I know I could make it)? And... to all the naysayers, they probably set camp and explored each section and then moved on. Geeesh!
Damn, Hunter should be an adventure tour guide. I'd be booking the shit out of him until I'm homeless.
Anyway, I only hope those delicious looking birds breasts didn't carry a little H5N1 in them.
@boxxerace: One thing you should notice by now is that most photographs of pro riders on this site is without backpacks.
The photos are always staged, where they stop and take off all the gear, get the photographer into position and shred. Lack of a huge backpack makes it looks nicer, and easier for them to shred.
However behind the scenes photos would show otherwise, especially the photographer's backpack which is normally crammed with huge amount of gear.
Definitely some assistant here, just rinding with a small tent and a sleeping bag is enough when riding, adding a small stove on top would be really heavy for that type of riding. But how great is that, getting the opportunity to ride the best terrain and explore those kind of mountains while not actually carrying more than what you would use on a "every-day trip". So stoked on this and can't wait for summer and more riding!
Super sick. I want to know about the stove in the tent. And the tent too. Where can I get a stove like that (the wood burning heat stove)? And a shelter like a teepee that accepts the chimney?
@jorukfundan: I'm sure they did get those grouse with a sling shot they are one of the dumbest birds you can walk right up on them i got quite a few growing up in Alaska
@AyJayDoubleyou: I'm legitimately interested in how they got the stove, tent, and wood up there... Sick photos and area - would be awesome to get into something like that!
Defines the power of mountain biking: guys who ride as much as Hunter and Miles still get as much joy out of it as heard in the genuine howls of happiness. This is why people are obsessed with riding bikes.
Does anyone know how they make the pov footage so immersive? Doesn't look like it's from a GoPro or similar action camera... maybe a chest mounted dslr? That's my only guess...
Matty is sponsored by Sony and from what I have seen/read those Action Cams have some great footage! As for the mount, its possible he is running one of those gyro mounts that keeps the shakes at bay.
was looking for the brand of the tent and stove, havent heard of Kifaru until now and just checked the price..looks like i wont be buying a kifaru tent anytime soon, sucks.
@boxxerace: I thought that too but I wasn't sure. Some pictures look like it and others not so much so I figured the PB mafia might be able to help out!
@mountain-life: Oh, but look at the size of the mountains to the West of the Chilcoltins! (Google Earth specifically). Maybe somewhere in North end of the range, maybe www.trailforks.com/trails/tyoax-pass area?
The Chilcotins were awesome to ride but I honestly liked riding Nelson/Rossland better. Now the Purcells/Jumbo/Monica Meadows are on the top of my list for BC bike/hike trips.
@boxxerace: yeah of course... i move in switzerland one 3weeks - one month a year during summer holidays ... paradise !! The rest of the year like now is dedicated to studies and waiting for these good times to come back !!! Come on just 7 months to go
(that said, someone certainly cheated and used a horsey horse or bird to get that stove all the way up there!)
