No one needs to introduce enduro racing anymore... The format has boomed over the past few years, and with the introduction of the EWS, and its huge success at Whistler, it's only set for bigger and better things.

So what's new in mountain biking, where's it going? Ultimately, it resides solely on one factor, which is ‘fun’. If you ain't having it, you're on the wrong hill, mate.

Although every element fathomable exists in the sport - competition, enjoyment, fitness, friendship, adventure, journeying and challenge, there are very few events that bring it all together…. Introducing the Trans-Savoie.

August 2013 will be the first Trans-Savoie event, a multi stage All-Mountain Enduro race taking in the biggest, baddest and best tracks around the Savoie region in the French Alps.

Years in the making, form the initial concept to printing number boards, Ali Jamieson (organiser) has spent months tirelessly orchestrating the event. Countless hours spent finding the sickest, most secret and wildest trails in the area. Sculpting single track and seeking lines on a trans alpine route in the best the region has to offer. True, the format already exists, but this is a new take, an awesome take. Never before has so much descending been covered in a multi day timed event, 20,000 metres descent and 5000m ascent, over 20 stages in the week.

Six days on your bike with friends, battling out the banter and blasting down single-track trails on 30+min descents. Eighty riders will set off on the adventure of a lifetime on the 18th August. Bound together by one common goal, ‘fun’.
Whether you've signed up to race it, ride it or wreck it, you're in for a hell of a week.

Ali - "It's not just a race, it's an experience of a lifetime. We want to bring together everything that people love about mountain biking - adventure, fun, exploration, excitement. Journeying through vast mountains, aided by uplift and ski-lifts, covering more descents than any other event in the world."
