Transition Bikes has become a favorite among riders for their range of unique freeride and slopestyle bikes. The company has focused development on bikes that riders can trust to stand up in the toughest conditions, from Whistler’s Boneyard to Vancouver’s North Shore and countless hometown trails around the world. As a local racing icon, and globally recognized professional racer; Lars brings a new direction to the company. He has been a key figure in bringing racing back to the Northwest with the tremendously successful Fluidride Cup series; one of the largest race series in North America, even in their first year.

“We are happy to support Lars, not only for his strong race results, but also for his strong community involvement in racing, trail building and rider instruction. Lars has an amazing connection with his bike and setup, and will be able to provide us with valuable product feedback and input as our brand continues to grow more into the racing segment” said Kyle Young from Transition Bikes. “We are extremely excited to have Lars involved with the company. Most of us have known Lars for many years and respect his riding ability and personality. "He has even spent time showing his wizardry and dirt jumping skills in our backyard playground,” said Sam Burkhardt from Transition Bikes.

"I am stoked to be working with Transition bikes, and am really happy to be involved with a company who has such deep ties into the core of the mountain bike community. It has been a great "Transition" from my previous home at Fluidride. It means a lot to me that they have encouraged my continued participation in the Fluidride projects as well. I am really looking forward to being a part of future product development, and their new race program. Lastly I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to Simon Lawton at Fluidride for the support over the last 3 years." Says Lars.

Lars is recognized as one of the fastest racers in America, and a pivotal member of the growing Northwest gravity scene. In the 2008 season, Lars competed in two UCI World Cup rounds, and earned a spot on the USA Worlds Team for a second time, competing at the World Championships in Val di Sole, Italy. He has been an active trail builder in his own community, and has helped riders of all levels improve their skills through Decline Magazine instructional columns, one-on-one rider instruction with Fluidride camps, and Fluidride’s Like a Pro DVD. Look for Lars Sternberg competing on Transition bikes at select international events and races across the Northwest.

Sternberg will begin his 2009 campaign on the Transition Covert for training and Super-D, the Transition Double for Dual Slalom and 4x, and the Transition Blindside for Downhill- until another weapon is available.
