Brandon Semenuk

Troy Lee Designs and Brandon Semenuk are happy to announce the continuation of a relationship that goes back 10 years (when Brandon was 14 years old) with the re-signing of a new multi-year contract. That relationship started as most mountain bike kids who aspire to be in the best equipment. Brandon, the Whistler, BC native had started out using Troy Lee Designs D2 full face helmets out of his home shop, Evolution Cycles in Whistler and it wasn’t until 2011 when Brandon was brought on to the TLD elite team, since then, he has not stopped racking up the accolades.

Brandon, at only 25 years of age has truly done it all in Mountain Bike free ride. With 2015 being one of the biggest years yet. Winning the event of the year at Crankworx Whistler, filming the most popular video segment of the year with his ‘One Shot’ segment, and being the overwhelming choice for “PEOPLES CHOICE” at this years RedBull Rampage… all of this while launching his own video production team; Revel Co.

Troy Lee Designs has committed to Brandon for his future creative projects in addition to competing moving forward into the next couple of years. 11 years of competing, every major win possible, but a lot of ideas in his head for showing the world our sport through engaging content, and innovative tricks on his mountain bike.

bigquotes"Brandon is super cool man, I love watching him ride, it puts a smile on my face, wish I could be 1/10th that smooth! I like working with some of his other partners too, I always learn a little something. He also has some cool ideas for design that I love talking with him about, we've done some of the coolest helmets and kits for Brandon, looking forward to more of that fun stuff, but also seeing more videos and cool new tricks...all the team riders are like family to me, and, I want them protected and looking good, Brandon shares that same idea." Troy Lee - Owner and Founder of Troy Lee Designs

bigquotes"Re-signing with TLD was a no brainer. It's nice to have a brand behind you that is constantly evolving the product and only settling for the best. The TLD team has also been incredibly supportive and excited about my endeavors." Brandon Semenuk

bigquotes What is not to love about working with Brandon? Seriously, he is as committed of an athlete as I have worked with in 20 years of managing athletes. His innovative riding and creative filming, sets new standards for all. It has been great for us as a brand to be a part of his growth, as he seems to really be grounded with his riding, happy with his results and still wanting to push the limits. Brandon is also, at the end of the day, not just a phenom, but he is a true mountain biker and he helps us with products for the common rider too, across our entire product line. The future is bright having Brandon on board." Craig "Stikman" Glaspell - Global Marketing Manager for TLD BIKE

In contrast to Gwin, who despite being an awesome athlete, has repeatedly chosen the $$ over any loyalty whatsoever. Not faulting the guy for trying to maximize earnings, as pro athletes have short careers, but Aaron definitely takes a more mercenary approach to it in my opinion. Brandon seems to live by a code that puts loyalty and relationships right up near the top too, and has figured out how to make plenty of money, be at or near the best in his sport, and develop long, mutually beneficial relationships with his main brands. Winner.

At least Gwin still kept his TLD helmet deal, so I guess that's showing some brand loyalty.

Well Brandon has also said riding is his favorite thing to do whereas Gwin implied he would probably not be riding very often if he wasn't pro

Not sure we as the public really know enough about what really happens on the business end in terms of Gwin or many other riders for that matter. The true dynamics of those relationships are not all that public most of the time.

@chrisclifford, guess u missed the vitalmtb car ride interview?
The context was that he probably would have returned to school if he wasnt gwinning.
like most of us non pros, we do other stuff more than ride..aka work.

@nsteele I don't know why anyone would get upset about him wanting money. It's his job, why would you stay at one place if you get paid more to to the exact same thing somewhere else? This happens in every other sport, all the time, why is it a problem for him?
And as for brand loyalty, if the situation was reversed, and he wasn't winning, do you think they'd say (Any brand); Hey man, I know you haven't qualified for the last 20 WC rounds, but we will keep you on and pay you because you won 4 years ago... Please.

How does Gwin come up in EVERY conversation (and quite unfairly too) about another rider? Did you watch his interview on Vital? He explained it pretty clearly - he said that riding bikes is definitely a passion/hobby of his, but racing is his job. He has a limited life span making money at this, why not get paid? I know I would.

@chrisclifford - no, Gwin never implied that. Watch his interview on Vital. He said he's been riding a bike since he was 3, and will be riding until the day he dies. He said racing WCs is his job, which is much different.

@nsteele I don't fully agree with that statement. Although with trek to spec and spec to yt it may be evident to a degree, it certainly wasn't the case with Yeti. Yeti let him go because yeti's dh program was to bring people up into the ranks, and they never claimed to be anything but that.

Gwin's move to this YT conglomerate team is doing so much for MTB and the riders. His move will help set the state to help pay these top athletes what they deserve.

That's rad that he's sticking with the companies that he's grown with over the years! so much respect for that.

Cant wait to see the TLD rally helmets and firesuits

Normally people sign with brands, not Semenuk. Brands sign with him. He is literally that good.

The day I can afford a D3 helmet will be a good day. TLD has the best gear and riders!

Love my TLD stuff. Good to hear he re-signed with them. Every time I call TLD with a question, they are very helpful.
