World Tour starts June 18th - Get your tickets now! You don't want to miss this!

unReal is for those of us who escape. A film that celebrates breaking free from the confines of reality and venturing into a boundless world. This place isn’t remote or hard to find, and yet many never see it. Here, glacial walls transform into mountain bike trails, rain and snow aren't the only elements to fall from the sky and thousand pound mammals become riding partners. Breathtaking visuals conjure feelings of awe and pure joy; feelings that only those of us who venture outside can truly understand. This film is dedicated to you - the dreamers, the rule-breakers, the ones who never grow up, the ones who know the secret - the ones who know the way into the unReal world.

Starring: Brandon Semenuk, Brett Rheeder, Cam McCaul, Graham Agassiz, Steve Smith, Tom van Steenbergen and Thomas Vanderham, with Brook MacDonald, Finn Iles, Ian Morrison, James Doerfling, Matty Miles and friends.

To get people stoked for the film release, we are launching a #REALvsUNREAL contest on social media from now until June 22. We want to see what YOU do to escape the “real world”. Show us your worst real world experiences - your traffic jams and spilled coffees - then show us your way out. What does your unReal world look like? Prizes include a custom unReal themed Trek Slash, along with prizes from Shimano, Sony ActionCam, Evoc, Smith and Western Digital. Full contest details can be found at www.tetongravity.com/contests/real-vs-unreal.

World Tour starts June 18th - Get your tickets now! You don't want to miss this!

Presented by Sony in association with Shimano and Trek. unReal is co-produced by Teton Gravity Research and Anthill Films. Written, directed and edited by Anthill Films. Art direction and additional writing by Good Fortune Collective. Additional support for the film is provided by Bike Magazine, Evoc, Knolly, Pinkbike, Rocky Mountain, Western Digital, and Whistler Mountain Bike Park.

If you got Netflix there's also Not Bad, it's not bad!
  • 7 1
Follow me, Rad Company, Arrival, From the inside out, New World Disorder series, Not Bad, Where the Trail ends, Seasons, Earthed series.......I mean if that doesn't get you started then I don't know what to tell ya Smile
  • 6 7
LifeCycles, and IMO nothing else even comes close. All the Anthill/Collective movies come in second, Seasons and Roam being the best two. The NWD are great for showing old school stuff and the evolution of the sport, but aren't even in the same league as the above stuff.
  • 4 2
@noheavenhohell, true Life Cycles is great shit but come on you can't deny the splendid Cinematography of the higher budget movies. Add Hexagone to that list as well. That was a free movie that dropped on PB last year sometime. It was awesome.
  • 4 1
there's 3:35 of pure perfection today on the home page. in the know..
  • 8 3
Life Cycles is too much slo-mo and not enough action. I liked it, but for me it's not even closer to what Collective did in the past. With all these new technologies focus is now more on effects and not so much on riding. Old Collective/Anthill movies are something different. Insane angles and perspectives that put you in there. Soundtracks matching the picture just perfectly. Life Cycles was great, but didn't forced me to take off my pyjamas and put on some gloves. ROAM and Seasons do that everytime. It's matter of taste obviously. I forgot to mention Virtuos and Vast. Great movies from the Swiss. So bad they (Ionate Films) didn't produce anymore.
  • 3 1
"not bad" . Some epic flowing stuff in that one
  • 1 1
from the inside out, Double down (bender shit), Days of Dirt, damn I love bike movies
  • 9 2
@holt1997 Life Cycles, ROAM, Where the trail ends, Strength In Numbers, From the Inside Out series, NotBad, Wont Back Down, Rad Company, New World Disorder I liked Arrival but its a lot of slomo, Builder, Best for last Wink unReal, because you'll go bananas and be stoked out of your pants!

Also catch up on the shows. Catch up on all of the "Life Behind Bars" episodes from Semenuk.

HAHAha...I forgot there was a mtb movie called Not Bad...I thought a couple of you guys were saying the trailer looks not bad, which is of course ridiculous cuz it looks stunning!
Anyways... those movies will get you started...the Drop-In series can still be found in all it's glory too Smile . And once you've purchased all that you can off the sites(you can't get everything)...punch search words into torrent sites and you'll get hits of stuff you can't buy
  • 7 1
Seasons and Roam are by far the best. Life Cycles is great as well, but it's too artsy for much replay value. You can watch Seasons and Roam over and over...
  • 6 3
 NWD 4 forever!!
  • 3 2
maybe not start, but you should really watch "Won't back down: The Steve Peat Story"

the only disappointment i had with this movie was it coming to an end.
  • 7 1
 The Collective.
  • 5 2
Roam all the way, then everything else by the collective
  • 10 1
cant believe no one has mentioned KRANKED 4: SEARCH FOR THE HOLY TRAIL!! Classic before bike movies went all arty and slow mo.
  • 4 2
Life Cycles is just an ok movie! I wish I could appreciate it more like a lot of people here seem to. Earthed series, Collective series, refocus, 3focus, vitruous and vast, NWD, Kranked, Follow Me, Builder, Won't back Down, 3 minute gaps.
  • 3 1
Another for The Collective. Then follow that with Roam and Seasons...The original first films from what has become Anthill crew. Still love the first Collective though. It just seemed so unique at the time when the NWD and Kranked series were all the rage. Not that there was anything wrong with them.
  • 5 1

You gotta start with "Follow me" (- best movie ever seen) then watch "Life Cycles" and to get your stokeness to the maximum level, watch "Seasons".

The "Ride the build" scene from Life cycles is the best movie scene I have ever seen in my life. Even though I don't really think Life Cycles is the best movie, beause it's sometimes too much slomo and there are some long scenes of talking and building bikes, but anyway: The "Ride the build" part from Life Cycles is pure perfection. The music, the edit, the creativity in those shots and the whole package makes it the best scene ever. I always get goosebumps watching it, it's pure art.

You can watch it online, but I won't post any links here because you should buy the movie to support the people putting this awesome movie together!

I want to see the Grizzly chewing on a 27.5 wheelset
  • 16 0
I'd like to layout all wheel sizes in buffet format for the grizzly and see which ones he/ she chooses and if he/ she is a dick about it.
  • 19 2
Well thanks a bunch film makers... I'd manage to convince myself I had no need for a 4k tv, then you go and make great content!? Bastard, the lot of you.
  • 44 2
 You're welcome ; )
  • 4 1
I must say it is beautiful in 4K. A noticeable difference.
  • 2 4
Is there going to be a way to buy the final film in 4k?
  • 4 1
I'm stunned by how good it looks at 480p - how does it still look so good at low res? Amazing work.

  • 11 0
 YYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
  • 11 2
About 10% of that trailer actually showed mtn biking. And about 1% of it got me psyched for this film.
  • 6 1
You mean you have trouble relating to, and getting pumped for slow-mo shots of riding on an open hillside with 100 horses, or ice-biking down a glacier? Riding fast on steep, rooty dirt is so 2005.
  • 3 0
Yeah, hauling ass on singletrack is such a niche part of the sport.
  • 10 1
I just hope they haven't abused the slow mo.......................
  • 5 0
They didn't just abuse slow mo, they treated it like an aboriginal student in a residential school.
  • 9 1
 well that trailer was unreal
  • 4 1
OMG I knew I had bought this 4k laptop for a reason. Sure I've only seen the first 56 seconds so far because the internet can't hack the immenseness of this, but it's like being there. Not much happened so far, but I'm stoked to find out.

The Aggyfest, video, the Dylan and Curtis video and now this? How the F*&K am I supposed to get any work done on a Monday morning Pinkbike?!?! C'mon!
  • 4 2
Looks amazing! Wish it were coming to IMAX 3D theaters! Totally going to buy this on Blu-Ray and add to my other discs from The Collective and Sherpas Cinema. Go Anthill!
  • 10 10
From a cinematic perspective it looks great... but from a mountain bike video perspective not looking forward to tons of nature fluff and over use of slo-mo with your standard mountain bike action. guess we'll see but not getting my hopes up. hate on.
  • 7 4
what he said. fully agree. big budget, big fluff.
  • 5 4
i dont think a person that escapes "reality" will have the life balance to be the best rider he can be. Balance you life and success and joy will flow in all aspects of it. No need to escape.
  • 4 4
I would like to take you up on that bet. Can you look after my mortgage and daycare payments for a few months?
  • 2 3
I'll be the best rider I can be! :-D
  • 3 1
 Whats in it for me?
if you cant withstand having a mortgage and paying daycare. Why are you mountain biking then? You got other prioroties to take care of man
  • 1 1
I never said I couldn't stand having a mortgage or paying daycare. Do they make me a better rider? I highly doubt it!
  • 5 0
Just yanking your chain man.. dont mind me. also sharing my experience, the best of my riding days have been when everything in my life is well balanced..work, taxes, gf, friends, spiritual life and yada yada yada. I personally dont support doing sports to escape other aspects of life which are not being enjoyed at the moment. If you are in a crappy situation you need to face it not pretend it doesnt exist while doing mtb. Just my opinion.
  • 4 2
looks promising! btw, anyone knows the name of the song featured in the trailer?

Pretty Lights - Lost And Found (Odesza Remix)
  • 2 0
who else when they saw steenbergen front flip was like "HOLLLLLLLLYYYY SHIIIIIIT"
  • 1 0
Why did they choose Philadelphia is the city in the intro? It seems so random as it doesn't seem to fit the bill as a hub for biking. Maybe Rocky makes an appearance?
  • 4 1
 What happened with Cam? Frown
  • 2 0
 He's in a better place......
  • 3 0
Well this looks MINT! Loving the David Attenboroug-esque narration!
  • 2 0
looks lame, earthed is wayyy better and the budget for the whole movie was probably less than one scene from this.
  • 1 0
Looks awesome. Wonder why the Whistler premiere is so much more expensive for Adult and Child tickets than all the other locations? I know it's not because of venue rental.
  • 3 1
First bike movie in a while I'm genuinely excited about.
  • 3 2
Is there any way to watch this if you can't get to a theater its showing at?
  • 9 1
It will be on iTunes, DVD, & BluRay in mid-July! More digital platforms will also be added to the list if you don't have iTunes Smile
  • 1 0
 Online version in 4K?
  • 1 0
@anthill - would also love to see an online 4K download.
  • 2 1
Why does the closest theatre playing this have to be 300 miles away from me? f*ck OHIO!
