soo jelous!! will be such a good trip. Good luck!!
Weir is going to freaking PWN faces...really though out of all of them I think he is the most fit for this ride
It's just my opinion. It's just me... I couldn't really enjoy riding while I see some starving little kids next to me and I ride a bike which costs two times more than that kid would need to eat something in this month. :S
But it should by the multi millionaires sorting it out... like Bill Gates, Richard Branson... He owns an island ffs!!
kenya is fecking awesome !!
if you get your vaccinations you fine from disease, the people are really freindly and make you feel welcome all in all an awesome country and one that more people need to visit.
my dads in kenya right now
and he says he loves it!
the people are all soo nice he says
and just get shots and yur perfectly good

Onakos.....those starving kids are always there...and im sure any of your things. bikes, cars, clothing ect...are worth and endless amount of money to those people.
Have you done anything about the problem?
What your pretty much stating is, out of site, out of mind.
Think about the things you say before you rant about nothing.

you could just give them all wal-mart and canadain tire bike that cost a couple hundred dollars and they will have more fun then a cat in a room filled with rocking chairs
My gran lived in Kenya for 40 years, my mum was born there and lived there well over 10 years and they never got any diseases. Just because you go to a poorer country doesnt mean you will die!
I have been to Kenya for seven weeks. It was the best time of my life.
Most of the people there are generally very happy and keep a positive attitude. Countless friends were made, and good times were had. If these riders get to go to the clubs in Kenya they will have a party to remember.
Every day I was there I wish I had my bike to ride all of the sweet local terrain everywhere I went, from Nanyuki to Mombasa.

Yeah Overdose... Africa is awesome!!! Yes there are starving kids and some people live in shacks there but have you ever been to the southern U.S.? I have seen both and let me tell you there is not a lot of difference in living conditions..... This is one epic destination that will change your life forever and if you don't want to go then that is just fine by us that do.....!
The 2 above comments are so true i was there for 3 weeks over christmas and met awesome people and have so many good memories.

Theres Starving people in the USA and Canada too, just ride down the streets in your local city, what makes Kenya any different? Looks like a sick place to ride! If it has mountains then its good!
because in kenya, they are actually dying from starvation! no soup kitchens there lad, but i know where you are coming from. Its terrible that the so called leaders of the country live in such luxury and the rest live in such poverty, did you not see ross kemp on gangs about kenya, it was unbeleiveable.

It'll be like a Megavalanche; probably take them about an hour to get down Mt. Kenya. BTW Kenya is AWESOME for mountain biking! Also, where's Steve Peat?
That race is a non profit event.
The winner gonna be one of the 3 french world champion
It’s very special race, it’s not only riding.

That's a strange collection of riders. It will be interesting. I wonder if no one else wanted to do it or if they seriously went invite only? I mean if, say, Steve Peat or Greg Minaar wanted to do this, would they be turned down? Well, I think one of the pro racers will take it. I dig Wade and Darren, but they are free riders are they not? I've seen them both riding UP ridgelines and doing looong rides and I know they are serious atheletes, but most of the others are career racers. I'd love to see Wade take that though. He's the flow master - we'll see.

what you guys don't understand is that they dont need material objects to be happy they are content with the simple things they have. a family friend brought someone from kenya to stay with them. when they took him to the grocery store he started to cry he couldn't believe al the food. he said we didnt know how lucky we were. in many ways there a lot happier then we are. what i'm gettin at is money doesn't buy you happiness.
Mount Kenya Rocks and this event will be great for Kenya, its people and its conservation. I hope too that it can help spotlight the growing mountain bike community here as well. We have our first real bike store now in Nairobi and races run throughout the year (including the 10 to 4 on down mount Kenya). I hope too the Kenya Wildlife Service might see this event and realize that the bike safaris can be an excellent addition to the portfolio of activities one can do in our parks. i mountain bike with elephants almost daily and while you have to stay alert in the soft sand it is a thrill impossible to put in words.
