During the last few months, Velosolutions has been building a couple of asphalt pumptracks all over the world and the crew has been travelling a lot. And even if being away and seeing different countries and cultures is priceless, being home and riding spots in Switzerland remains special to us. So we decided to show some riders around Switzerland and to do a small Tour De Pump with them, to get them stoked about the pumptracks Velosolutions built recently.

Tobi Wrobel chasing Lukas Knopf on the pumptrack in Flawil, Switzerland.

And there we went; Tomas Zejda, Jakub Vencl, Tobi Wrobel, Lukas Knopf and for the temperamental part, the Spanish matador, Bienvenido Aguado and Me, Myself and I representing the country of cows, chocolate, cheese, money, and watches. Talking about watches...time went by quickly with riding four places in only twp days. But as they say – Time flies when you’re having fun! Six guys, four pumptracks, two days of riding and fun.

And if you really want to do it, do a No Hander and tell your mum that you're going big and you're not coming home.

Nothing beats a nice little train with your mates.

why can't every town have this? less money on metric shocks and more money on things to ride

 Exactly

Development and sales of Metric shocks goes together with development and financing of pumptracks, as well as my penis with Emilia Clarks vagina. They theoretically fall under the same subject but are controlled by completely unrelated entities with rather different budgets. Big Grin

I wish Geelong hired these guys for their "Hill".

More the point... Why don't they have a business plan to build everywhere?

@Ideate: I've been meaning to check it out. I looked at the jumps and thought 3 jumps aint worth the 2 hour drive. True? What's good about it besides a good thing for the newbies?

The local trails around my area are building pump tracks. We have one small one done at Chuck Lennon sports complex. The next one is coming soon at Gram Swamp. Orlando also has a few. Then there is GFT (grape fruit trail) you could call it a giant pump track or a dirt jumpers wet dream. So much great riding in Florida. Yes in Florida all year.

@properp: @properp: I'm in Pensacola and we shoot over to Santos sometimes, which is effing great - no one would guess you can have that much fun in a dead flat area. Where exactly are these places of which you speak?

@skippy888: It's great if you're 7 and ride a 20" huffy. Or if you're 50 and ride a Klein Mantra Pro. Unfortunately I fit in the middle so I won't be back anytime soon.

@claudiocaluori Dude I love pretty much everything you do, but I have a question. Any chance you guys could make a chilled out version of one of these videos (ie. no backflips and airs, just kids pumping and riding strider bikes and shit)? I have a hard time convincing the squares in my city council (Baltimore) that this is a good idea when all they focus on is the insurance liability of a kid getting a bottom bracket to the mouth. Cheers!

Not going to lie I initially thought that tarmac pumptracks where pointless as my local runs sweet in all weather, apart from snow. But looking at the mad lines possible and how well it would hold up compared to its dirt counter parts, bring on the tarmac baby!

I would prefer this with a claudio voice over UCI track preview style....

Claudio brings so much hapiness in this world with these pumptracks!! If only belgium had some money to make that good investment....

A pump track teaches the skill of flow. You can take this skill with you to any trail.

i'm sitting on the fence between "i'd rather ride a skatepark" vs "i'd rather ride a pumptrack" your lines are always inspiring @velosolutions

I know it's how long is a piece of string but has anyone any idea of build cost via velo solutions for a fairly basic tarmac track. say 15m x 30m
