Love me some claw !!! But ironically they're talking about "one bike " yet I could of sworn I saw a coil in one shot , 29er in another and what could of been different size wheels , jusSayin
well at 3:05 it lookes like the enduro evo, which is 180mm. wouldn't call that an AM bike and easy to go uphill though. feel a bit fooled switching bikes and say AM bikes have no limitations. hate me for this, it's just what came into my mind. i mean, if you have sponsors that through at you all the spare parts that you break while riding off cliffs with a 150mm trail bike, it's no deal. for me I would rather ride a more solid bike just to make sure it holds together.
To my defense i asked for the enduro and all they gave me was the evo so I built it up for my pedal bike. Don't usually respond to these but thought I should lol
Shred on
shooby- I've had pretty good luck ripping everything with my Scratch without it falling apart. The Slash (newer version of the Scratch) is a bit more pedal friendly and its handled everything but I haven't tested it yet for big mountain shredding. If there is a limitation to the bikes, I haven't found it yet which is good enough for me and I haven't noticed an uptick in parts failing. AM rigs are the best thing to happen to mtbing.
i ride a 150mm Giant Reign and a ROSE Soulfire 180mm. And I still break stuff (instantly limp bizkit tunes in your ear) on the soulfire riding alpine terrain. I still like the giant more at the moment cause it's faster on trails. But banging this down the rocks of the alps? I mean, you can sometimes if you are able to replace stuff with ease. The point is just the argument that there are no limitations on these bikes but then changes between a stumpjumper and an enduro evo. the thing is why it sets me up a bit is, that I thought at first the vid encourages me in my decision to ride my 150mm more on rougher ground and then got slaped in the face with an evo still a friggin rad video!
One of the best riders in history, his section in Seasons is still my absolute favourite. So dedicated and so humble. Still, saying one bike does all and then only riding groomed trails, groomed jumps and... yeah, you get my drift. Where I ride it's rocky, really rocky and for weekend fun climbing mountains the AM is the bike to have, but for the lift assisted rock-fest which is my beloved bike park, I NEED a DH bike still (and I wouldn't change that for the world).
Odd video, I swear I saw him riding more than one bike, when he talked about "the single do it all bike" and then they didn't show any climbing (although who really wants to watch a climbing vid)...
That said, it's the Claw, so it's all good. And the clipped in moves he was pulling?!! So awesome...
2009 SX Trail in that exact color scheme was my first real mtb, @claw. I went through so much with that bike broken femur to my first Virgin lines! Now Jonesy Fedderson has my old SX and I couldn't ask for a better dude to have that bike. Thank you Specialized.
Was that an enduro or enduro evo? I like the evo cause I like freeriding and going to the bike park but I still go on trail/enduro rides with my friends. What's better?
Nothing exciting about climbing video. It's just that they were talking about bikes that you could climb to the top and then ride down. First bike was a hardtail that was good for climbing but sucked at downhill, second bike was a boat anchor that sucked for climbing and was great at downhill. Then he starts talking about an "all mountain" bike that can do it all. but all they show is him ripping downhill. It just seems like they missed showing 1/2 the point of the video. One short shot of him heading up hill would have tied the thought together.
BTW, that jump where he clips out and reclips before landing is sick.
Yeah man, what we all really want to see is some epic slo-mo climbing footage instead of Darren leaving a snail-trail of steaze all over that mountain.....
@claw I hope you saw the sarcasm in my comment above. Lol! The video was rad and anyone with half a brain should know that these bikes are decent climbers and shouldn't need video-proof.
1) NOT a rampage style trail
Thank you.

And I wonder how long does his IXS kneepad straps last..
