You smoke out that thing right?

This is useful when shown and explained properly but it's just one element of cornering. It's also about body position, weighting and confidence. If you're not comfortable getting your bike over try it but stick a foot out.

Peaty is no one min wonder like that video. Check what peaty says about cornering

@tim-from-pa, I agree that Fabian's video is much more comprehensive and detailed for cornering.

Gene at BetterRide spends 3 solid hours on proper cornering technique, and that's after almost 3 solid days of learning proper riding technique. There is no way you are going to learn how to rail a berm by watching a video about it.

The Fabian video is really good.

Yep those Fabien Barel videos are awesome. Maybe PB should do a series?

Agreed with the above comments. Although the video is nice...it is very top level. Our cornering clinics usually take up a full 3 hours to cover off on all the nuances and techniques needed to corner properly (and tackle different types of corners). Trail application is a whole different ball game too...

Whats the next video after the bunny hop? How to go down steps on ur bike

so much wrong with this. only of benefit to new rides so useless to begin with that 40 seconds of lame instruction will actually improve their riding....

Art's Cyclery has a cornering video as well that goes quite a bit further in depth than the one here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORAOAeXNA1A

In the video, the first part it showed a non-banked turn and then a banked turn, and the transition from one to the other was not clear. I think the video needs to spend a little more time explaining body position and bike position in a banked and non-banked turns.

How many teeth have you got left?
  • 2 0
got all the teeth, unscarred flesh is a little worse for wear.
  • 4 1
Unscarred flesh makes you less masculine, right?

 I'm only scar.

You don`t need fancy videos and science!

Flat corner = FOOT OUT FLAT OUT (Inside foot)

Berm = RAILING RUTS (because a berm is just a nice rut)

 Outside foot! Centripetal force.

Both feet, and a hand. Closed eyes.

When people talk about riding in ruts...they mean the line, right?

Cos the ruts here in California will get you OTB.

This series is improving. This one may be useless, but at least it's not wilfully wrong like the last one on steeps. Great work!

they forgot to tell you to look at the exit of the corner. staring at the apex of the corner usually makes you fly right over it.
