Let's all just watch and marvel- no need to moan about different wheel sizes, different disciplines blah blah blah.... you don't even have to be a rider to love FEST.
Are there really hillbilly's in Norway? Everyone from there seems pretty straight forward and not too into the whole diesel trucks, guns, yellow beer thing. Sick track though, they know how to build that's for sure.
I seriously love Fest. But it's such a different level of riding that exists for the rest of mountain biking. I'm not talking about trick levels, I'm talking about course levels. This is basically a moto track that has enough drop in for a bike to carry enough speed. None of us will ever learn to hit stuff like this. Still highly entertaining but also one of the most niche parts of biking at this point
^ For real. I personally know that my MTB path went a smaller course due to my life choices, but any of us can make this level if it is truly the goal in sight. You think skiers who go off 120 meter jumps just did it one day? They started with a pile of snow in the backyard and kept adding...
He could have phrased it "98% of riders will never hit jumps even close to this big". And he would be absolutely correct. No need to criticize too much.
Dirtbag- Well technically Nordic ski jumpers have access to facilities with jumps as small as 8 meters and they work their way up, with the aid of specially designed training equipment and bigger Nordic-style jumps. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a state where Nordic ski jumping was a HS sport... it was friggen scary. With reg. skis, not so much but those jumping skis... holy shit. It's like hitting a 20ft. jump on a road bike vs. a mtb. There's virtually no control and on 32 meter jumps, its either you get it right or possibly eat massive crap.
Mads Makks mixed with Legendeguy's stretched out, steezed out flat 3s made for a helluva show guvna. A jolly good show dinnit?
Keep dreaming small for yourself, but don't include others.
