To say the least this winter has been hectic, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity to finally work with Magnus. We want to do everything we can to help him out. For the past 3 years we have watched Magnus grow from a young little grom into an incredibly disciplined and talented rider. His form and style is perfect and certainly not that of your average 15 year old.
Magnus is not your average kid. He works very hard, and it shows in every aspect of his life. He is focused on his goals and knows exactly how to reach them. His level of skill is high, he has a dedicated training program, and with several podium finishes he is on the path to becoming one of Canada's premier downhill racers. But when you still have to go to high school, train every day, stay focused and juggle part time job its not easy to fund a racing career. This is where Magnus needs your help. Learn about his past success and his upcoming season - Head to his
crowd funding page and help this kid climb the ranks!
"This year I hope to race 13 races total, 3 in Washington, 2 in California and 8 in BC. I am working as many hours as I can in my minimum wage, part time job. I won’t be able to earn enough to cover my expenses for the season. My goal in 2014 is to race as much as I can, perform to my highest capability, and grow stronger and faster for the following seasons to come. Having the support now will help my racing career in the future, having a strong season before I am able to race on the international stage is super important." - Magnus MansonPlease donate and share this page! -

Regarding this kid asking for money, all the power to him. He is following his dreams and that takes financial assistance. I think it shows maturity and drive to take that kind of initiative at that age. Given there is a mass audience discussing his video I think it's safe to say he will be well supported.
That being said, I can't donate. I need to buy a new set of gold plated titanium pins for my pedals.
BUT
I thought about it and I feel this is a negative and selfish way to think, so instead of been jealous of what this guy has I try to see it in a positive light, although I wish I had those opportunities too and im sure part of me is jealous haha, I say good on him, he has been blessed with some great opportunity and while some people are lucky I don't know his story and if I was in his situation I'm sure i would do the same to reach my goal. His a kid trying to follow his dream and his come to a point where he is stuck. He has a dream and his doing all he can to reach it.
Good on him, who of us wouldn't do the same to reach a life goal if we had the chance?
Sure I still think maybe he needs to consider what racers are necessary rather than what he 'wants to race' but his following his dream so good luck to the bloke.
Jesus, do you honestly he think he's "Worked" hard at his riding? the kid's 15 and never worked a day in his life.

Steve Smith's mom couldn't even afford to buy him his first bike, he still succeeded, so why wouldn't that kid?
He has a definitive goal and is working hard to accomplish it. Rearranging school, not dropping out, to spend more time riding. Working hard at the gym, not just partying all night, to create the building blocks of winning machine. And, lest we forget, hours and hours spent on the trail repeatedly pushing himself to cut time and increase his speed.
Dedication, commitment, focus. At 15, those are rare and admirable traits.
I truly hope he succeeds.
Fund yourself or get sponsors to pay.
Don't ask me to pay for you to travel and for you to go have fun.
We all wanna do that and have to pay for it ourselves - what makes you different.
How long could you have been grinding at your minimum wage job if your 15 ?
Some grown men with full time jobs can't afford what you have now - should they care that you wanna go race on their dime.
I really wish you well but I think your idea sucks - 15 year wants money from strangers to ride his bike.
Like at 17 or 18 when's he's really old. Lol.
Asking other hard working peeps for money that you have no intention or way of returning is sad.
I've worked since I was 12 so don't wine on about grinding for money - we've all been doin it a lot longer than you.
When or if your world champ and have the world at your fingertips are you gonna pay these people back ?
Don't think so.
Sad. I think anyway.
10 or 11 parts is what he has + emails and shoutouts. Thanks.
I wish and already wished him the best in his future BUT I don't think aspiring racers should be getting articles plying for donations on Pinkbike.
I'm putting a article together for next week if that's the case.
"Please donate to my Whistler trip"
Worth a shot. Shout outs for everyone !
Go get another job this winter. Work 2. Your young.
By the looks of it ( your donation total ) you probably won't have to , so don't worry about it.
Let's see where this goes with all the future " talented young riders " showing their promos and asking for us , the Pinkbike community to supply them with the items and travel funds they deserve ..... apparently ........, so I've been told.
I'm goin' shopping! Wow check out his race results ...this kid's a winner!
