THE JOY IS IN THE JOURNEY

bigquotesSometimes you just gotta go. Ride, hike, day, night, trail or not, sometimes it's just about that pursuit of 'different.' A chance to explore the alien. Walk into the unknown, apply a handful of physical and/or emotional investment and make yourself a memory. For some, the unknown of hitting the beach for a week of mojito's is worth its weight in gold. But for others, it's about the beat of a different drum. A drum that grows louder in unforgiving environments, one where the experience balances on exhausted excitement. As someone once said ''Challenges are what make life interesting. Overcoming them is what makes life meaningful.'' Weave the foundation with natural beauty, fresh social situations, and have yourself the backbone of a trip worth traveling. After all, the joy is in the journey.

bigquotesThese old growth relics of the Duncan Valley were cut in the 1960's before the area was flooded upon completion of the Duncan Dam. Each spring, the dam fills with the collective meltwaters of the Selkirk and Purcell mountains, submerging the remnants of this once great forest. As the landscape sheds its winter coat there is a small window where one is given access to the alien. Empty, the lake lies cracked and sun scorched. A post apocalyptic valley flanked by forests. A landscape of contrasting environments like no other. We spent two days riding a portion of the valley's 45km length. No trails, just an experience in the middle of nowhere. Camping beneath the stars, in the company of fallen giants and white peaks.

trees grow back, and for global warming, plants use co2 as we do oxygen.

So Orion98- if we cut more trees than can grow back, in order to offset the amount of co2 we put out, then your logic doesn't hold very well.

thats far from right thinking. trees take like atleast 10 years to grow adult cutting them only costs 10 minutes. they are giving us breath oxigen. and are representing life. the only thing i hate about being a freerider is that i sometimes need to remove plants. i will always scout for the place where there is almost nothing of plants... and still then,.. i have dreams big dreams. but still if trails do already excist then ride those... but i get it the eager to ride is sometimes to great. but think about it really hard

Most of the oxygen in this atmosphere is created by algae. To create a large difference in the oxygen % in the atmosphere 30% of the total land of the entire planet would need to be made completely devoid of all plant life. That is all of south america, and still that would only be 3-4% of the total oxygen for the entire planet, like going from the coast to the Colorado rockys, and I like trees I love the forest, but there's nothing bad about good businesses.

nothing goes above nature and especially not business. business is what we all need to live, but there are limits. some people think money is what makes them happy but thats really not a hobby making money and it doesnt represent hapiness. good not everyone thinks like that. but leaving your trash in the ocean or in the forest just so you shoudnt pay for it. shows for some dont really care only about themselves. btw no trees no life

Diamondback I thought we had something with this last video.

In that video you got it, no lifestyle bs, no voiceover, no hipster music, no "journey". I thought we were on the same page. With this latest video I can see we are not. I am going to try to move on and I suggest you do the same.

From that video post you just referenced on the "Moments" series... "this series aims to capture the simple things that put a big ol smile on your face. Short and sweet."
