“
Growing up in both Southern and Northern California, I have been surrounded by polar opposite riding cultures. Both regions have great riding and great people, but after a while I found myself drawn more to where the redwoods and banana slugs thrive instead of the dusty, matching-kit race days of SoCal. In NorCal it is more just t-shirts, no gloves with the occasional pause in the forest, not beat the clock to the bottom. I realized where my passion for riding stands."
"
Living in the 831 and being surrounded by some of the most stylish riders in the world has really benefitted my riding in a positive way. Racing can be fulfilling, but I’ve never had a great love for it with the pressure and past experiences I’ve had. Moving back up to Santa Cruz, I noticed that just riding for fun and filming was truly my "cup of tea”. Being part of the Deity family has been a dream of mine for a while. When this dream came true, I couldn’t think but to create a video that represents what/who I am in the riding scene of Santa Cruz." -
Isaac Wallen“
Watching Isaac's riding ability excel over the past few years has been truly astonishing. Having him has a lifestyle rider for my shop is a treat at the least. The progression of his style and speed is nothing but natural to him, and watching him ride always gets me stoked. The creativity that the kid brings to the trails and his ways of riding lines to the furthest of its potential is quite exciting to watch. I really cannot wait to see what his future has in store on a bike.” -
