As Martyn Ashton’s phenomenal road bike stunt riding film, Road Bike Party 2, approaches a staggering 10 million views, Martyn is pleased to announce the release of a 27-minute documentary chronicling the dramatic story behind Road Bike Party 2’s making.

Featuring in-depth interviews with Martyn, Chris Akrigg, Danny MacAskill, and film maker Robin Kitchin together with behind-the-scenes footage, outtakes, and anecdotes, the film is an emotional insight into the story behind Road Bike Party 2 and the aftermath of the life-changing accident that failed to derail it.

Road Bike Party 2

Martyn has been genuinely overwhelmed by the support he and the film have received:

bigquotesThe journey through making this video was full of incredible highs and desperate lows. Somehow we made it happen and the end result is something we can all be proud of. I think this look behind the scenes shows just how much hard work and energy went into getting it done. It also shows how much fun we had, the laughs and crashes too. It's crazy but it was the best of times during the most desperate of circumstances.

Martyn is even more determined for his career and the party to continue and, although, Road Bike Party 2 is his last ever two-wheeled riding film, you’ll be seeing more of Martyn on the Global Cycling Network (GCN) presenting, producing, and making many more entertaining and inspirational films.

So stay tuned for Road Bike Party 3...

It was so incredible and really shows the difficulty behind every scene. His outlook after the injury and Danny/Chris stepping up to finish his last ever bike project is really inspiring. I didn't realize before that it was also the first road bike with disc brakes! What a legendary edit and all the best to recovery.

It amazes me how Martyn stays positive even after the accident. You can see during this interview how much he misses old life and riding a trial bike. It must be so hard for him, yet he never gave up. What a character! I'm truly inspired!

Wow what a great video, made me want to cry a bit, paralysis has to be the biggest fear for any extreme sportist. Stay strong Martyn.

I am shit with charity stuff normally but this genuinely motivated to donate to wings for life, the charity he mentioned.

What an amazing documentary/vid! Inspirational is a word that is often over used, but this truly is! Amazing to see such a positive outlook. It was the MBUK sponsored 'Tricks and Stunts' video with the two Martin's back in the day that originally got me into biking all those years ago.

A true legend of the sport.

What an amazing guy, I didn't really know too much about him before the crash, just 'of' him, but seeing this just shows what an amazing guy he is to have such a great attitude despite the crash, he is a pretty inspirational guy. Hats off to you man!

f*ck me, he's permaf*cked à la Stephen Murray?!!!! I thought he had recovered & made RBP2 afterwards. So both he & Akrigg have had recent, major life threatening accidents. Frown I hope this isn't a sign that D-Mac's is comin'.

3 of the raddest dudes ever. Not just raddest bikers, but raddest DUDES!

In an unrelated case of awe, Shift makes tighties?

Stay strong brah, 3 of my all time top drawer heroes all in one right here, innit?
