Hello Pinkbike Land!
Well, in my rush out the door to celebrate my May long weekend I received an email from Brian over at Whistler Mountain Bike Park. Seeing as the Lower Mainland was blessed with amazing weather the past couple of days, Brian and others have decided to open up the mountain even more. Read on to figure out what we are going to get to ride now!

The weather has been cooperative for the last few days and the Trail Crew and Bike Patrol have been putting in extra effort to offer up more options for guests this weekend. We have gone way beyond the cautiously optimistic plan to get A-Line and Crank it Up open and now plan to offer up mountain biking on a total of 11 trails. We have B-Line, Crabapple Hits, Lower Easy Does it, Heart of Darkness, Devils Club, Crack Addict, Old School, Hornet and Monkey Hands ready to open.
The trails are in "early season" condition with limited buffing and patching of jumps and lots of mud. I decided that it would be better to have more trail options in the softer conditions and leave the jump sculpting until a bit later, therefore the trail crew spent more time moving snow and managing water runoff than moving dirt and shaping jumps.
I have taken "quality assurance" runs down A-Line, Crank it Up, Crabapple Hits and B-Line and feel that the riders who come up for the weekend will find it to be a fantastic opening for the 2008 season!
