Already jealous of the unknown winner.
  • + 8
 same here
  • + 12
Me three. That's a most lushious beast that is!
  • + 18
I don't really know why i enter because it is highly unlikely that i will win but i still do it because of the hope
  • + 52
Why jealous ? The worst that can happen is that someone else is gonna have a bloody good time on this bike. doesn't change anything for you. Simple life, be happy with what you have...
  • + 5
 That's an incredible looking bike!!!
  • + 0
@BeppePace: Not sure why you getting neg prop. Isn't that sort of what Christmas is about? Hope. Your kind of just stating the obvious, though.
  • + 54
@BeppePace: hope is what rebellions are built on..
  • + 12
@SleepingAwake: You may want to check that sense of humour, sir. I think is broken.
  • + 1
Right?! That thing is sickly sweet!
  • + 12
@SleepingAwake: Ohh.. don't be such a Schweizer. It's ok to be jealous. A little bit. It shows that you still care. That you're still alive.
  • + 3
@SleepingAwake: And who knows... jealousy can turn into something financially positive by giving the drive to do something about not having the bike...like robbing a bank
  • - 1
@ibishreddin: a bank full of hasidic gold in cheese shaped bars... I'll show myself out...
  • + 1
@Joegrant: Perhaps it's because not a single advent calendar contest has been posted without someone posting how they won't win, what can they do to win, etc. etc. And it's a tad old.
  • + 2
@passwordpinkbike: yeh maybe. I didn't even consider it could be ironic. Sry if it was...
  • + 0
@SleepingAwake: I'm kinda new to this whole advent giveaway thing. funny though, @BeppePace seems to have gotten some up prop since my comment, but I'm getting neg. whatever.
  • + 4
@dv8416: hope is what makers your bike stop ????
  • + 2
 @dv8416: lmao
  • + 2
I'm glad I'm not going to win it, as I don't have the $1540usd to cover the taxes.
  • + 3
@SleepingAwake: it is nice to say, but not everybody lives in switzerland where you can buy this bike by one payment.... :-D
  • + 0
@Masak: there is not a single country in this world where you can buy this bike with single average salary. You have some Slavic shame/Glorification of the West syndrome going on Smile Perhaps if you lived in Norway you could buy it just like that after 3-4 months of working in Burger King given you get paid Oslo money and live in some sht hole with low rent. @kopaczus is Polish and his wife bought him a Jeffsy... it would take my wife 6 months of saving and she works as a private consultant to city planning office in Sweden, which is a well paid job.
  • + 2
@WAKIdesigns: Second that. Salaries here in Ch are maybe huge compared with the rest of Eu, but for example, for two kids in daycare you have to pay 5k Chf every month. That's 12 top of the shelf Strives every year! Big Grin
This bike is a great win. No matter how much do you earn.
  • + 3
@WAKIdesigns: so if this bike cost 5500S, how long you have to spent money to buy it? I dont want to cry here, but I can spent 1000-1500S per year... so for me it would takes 4-5 years, and I got second part time job:-D
  • + 1
@Masak: I can spend 2000€ per year, having 10 year working experience as an architect. Then I would never, eeeever spend such money on Merida, YT or Canyon. For 5.5k I'd get a tip top Nomad cc with carbon wheels, excellent tyres, Fox Suspension and XTR/XX1. I'm too long in this game to pay more than 60% of msrp. I don't need the bike right now, I can wait and buy second hand stuff in unused or barely used condition. I would never pay more than 4,5k for a bike anyways, since anyone with a bit of patience and knowledge can build a bike in that price (or even below 4k) that performs at 99% of what a 10k+ bike can provide. That Merida is worth 2,5k the moment you open the package.
  • + 4
For instance: next year I will buy Commencal HT AM 20" to my daughter. I will pay around 650€, there's no way to find anything cheaper. It comes with a crappy drivetrain and brakes. I already bought her a used X0,X9 9sp combo and 11-34 XT cassette for 100€ total. Then I have latest Deore brakes for her which I got in barely used condition for 50€ with XT rotors. I also have an old but rather light Easton 25,4 bar with 50mm stem combo. In this way she will have a best possible HT for a kid at 9,5kg. I am also keeping track of some very light rims.

The trick is to always have some cash left and keep track of all sorts of classifieds. Excellent deals are out there, but you have to be there to grab them. I spent most of my money on a new bike and didn't have cash and will to buy Fox 36 as brand new thing. I already saw and had to pass 2 opportunities to buy a barely used 36 for half the money. All I need to do next year is to build up a bit of cash and wait patiently. As soon as the great deal pops up, grab the shit. Then sell my current fork.

Any idiot can spend 10k on S-Works Enduro and then 5k more on making it murdered black with green ano components and DVO suspension.
  • + 1
@WAKIdesigns I've always found that a wedge in your pocket can work wonders down your lbs when doing a deal. Especially in Jan and Feb. I've also found that it's better not to get to pally with them either, that way it doesn't hurt your conscious too much when your screwing them to the floor.
  • + 1
@Earthmotherfu: I've seen the void and it has indeed seen me...
  • + 1
 @WAKIdesigns: what were you wearing?
  • + 2
@WAKIdesigns: You've got some Swedish shame/ Oslo Glorification syndrome going on there...
  • + 49
Merry Christmas PB, thanks for the epic advent!

@Cherry79: you signed up to win a bike but have never contributed to the forums or any of the articles, discussions or features. Yeah I hope you don't win to be honest.
  • + 21
@Paul7189: I am glad @Cherry79 joined PB to win a bike lottery. As a bi-product of his/her registration they now have a voice in our community, growing the industry. All PB needs to do is help create one addict at a time for us to have new trails, cheaper prices, new comrades, and new types of creativity for the sport we all love. I think this is the spirit of the advent give away...
  • + 3
@twhart20: Cheaper prices - even though prices rise year on year. Also you can join whenever if you want to express yourself and have a voice in the community. Surely by joining because you want something for free your motive is to get something for free. Not to join in with the other things.
  • + 6
@Paul7189: Dunno why you got down-voted TBH. At least a couple of hot prizes have gone to dormant or otherwise non-non-contributaory accounts. It's kinda lame.
  • + 2
@truffy: I know. There is another forum I use and they have the same thing and a guy won prizes this year and last year, didn't post at all between them and the conditions of the prize were doing a review on the forum which he didn't do. These things are great but I'm sure everyone would rather they went to an active member of the community not someone who is just trying their luck.
  • + 13
@Paul7189: I have contributed by sweating, bleeding, and buying mtb products locally for years...as well as reading PB daily. Never cared to participate in social media or strava koms.
Just couldn't pass up a chance to win a great prize, I donate enough to the click bait
  • + 10
@twhart20: thanks buddy, I only posted to see if my account was active.
Been reading great comments from Waki and the guys for a long time. I also read for the info.,.not too many serious riders in northern DK.
Didn't think it was mandatory to post coments on every site you visit. Where is the solidarity gone?

  • + 8
@Paul7189 @truffy Whoa, lads. Get over yourselves.
  • + 7
@K4m1k4z3: agreed, bike more, hate less
  • + 16
Funny, the same bike of same producer with same name but with the electro engine, costs the same... Or they have margin on non e-bikes so high, or the their e-bike is funny cheap. I think the first is right.
  • + 1
Just imagine these comments if the ebike was the prize. "Wow! So cool. I really really want to try ebiking. #26isdead #changesidesonawhim"
  • + 14
I can't believe I'm going to win this great bike. Thanks PinkBike. Christmas time is magical. You can all have a turn riding my local trails on it. Thanks again. Feels great to finally win.
  • + 12
Epic prizes throughout the advent calender. Big thanks to pb and all manufacturers for an exciting December. Congratulations to all the winners! Merry Christmas. Ride on!
  • + 9
 From Merida's website: About Us:

MERIDA’s company founder Ike Tseng (1932–2012). During a trip through the USA at the beginning of the 1970s, he discovered a note at the door of a bike shop stating that not any bikes from Taiwan were accepted for repair due to bad quality. This annoyed Ike Tseng – and already shortly afterwards in September 1972, the first production plant of his company Merida Industry Co., Ltd. was opened in Yuanlin (Taiwan). ..... But Ike Tseng wouldn’t have been himself if he had been satisfied with the successful realization of his plan to be able to offer high-quality bikes “Made in Taiwan”. So in 1988, he took the second big step by launching the independent brand MERIDA.....
  • + 3
Much of my bike is made in Taiwan, and it's the best one I ever owned.
  • + 7
Unreal Xmas gifts pinkbike! Been entering for 4 years now , haven't won anything but love seeing what's up for grabs every December. Merry Christmas to pink bike , all of the companies donations and of course all of its followers! Cheers!
  • + 11
When are the results gona come out?
  • + 7
Seriously when the full list of winners are coming out!!!??? That are a lot of prizes still waiting for a winner!!!
  • + 6
Ok, that's it. If I don't win this one, I'm telling my kids there's no f*cking Santa Claus. You don't want that on your conscious, do you Pinkbike?
  • + 8
 They're probably unconscious by now.
  • + 8
So who won the last of the prizes?
  • + 6
Dear Santa: I've kidnapped your favorite elf. Let me win this bike and you'll get him back, safe and sound. If not... well let's just say I've been naughty this year.
  • + 1
 Lol
  • + 3
OMG i have been telling my friends that christmas eve would be an enduro bike. What i got wrong was i thought it would be 140mm travel pike with shimano xtr but this is WAY COOLER. pinkbike even if i don't win looking at this bike would make my 2016.
  • + 4
the sad truth the person who is going to win this will most likely be someone with 3 downhill bikes, 2 enduro bikes and a few xc bikes... they'll probably not even have any use for it.
  • + 4
This is an unbelievable prize. Thank you all at Merida and pink bike. Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas....... and I hope it is me that gets to enjoy the bike....... if not then all the best to its new owner.
  • + 8
Who won this in the end?
  • + 7
When are the results coming out, does anyone know?
  • + 2
The winners are notified within 48 hours after the end of each round.
  • + 1
@K4m1k4z3: That probably implies that if you haven't heard anything yet, you haven't won anything from the Shimano XT kit onwards, right? I didn't sign up for this bike (didn't want it) but I would have liked that XT or Park Tool kit.

The good news is, we can still win something through that share the right thing, right Wink ?
  • + 1
@vinay: Indeed, I think it's safe to assume we didn't win. FeelsBadMan (╯︵╰,)
  • + 2
Its getting to the point that unless you are a full time down hill rider or racer, what is the point in a downhill bike? Im sure this bike and many others like it are more than fully capable to handle all of the downhill tracks out there.
  • + 3
liking the new 160 bike. Had a 120 and that was my first proper FS bike, and that taught me the very basics. God i had a lot of fun on that bike, merida is such an under rated bike
  • + 2
Awesome Advent calendar with amazing prizes! Maybe next year one or two of the draws should be small items for like 20 people just to share the love some more? Cool to see the big wins, but also nice to see the ones where there's 3 or 4 prize pack to give away! Nothin like some swag to make Christmas rock! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
  • + 2
If I had one wish this christmas, my first wish would be peace on earth, goodwill towards men and joy to all the children of the world. If I had two wishes this christmas, my first would be peace on earth and all the children stuff and my second would be this bike! Actually, my first would be this bike then all the children's stuff. Merry Christmas everyone!! thanks pinkbike for filling my whole December with hope of better gear. And thanks snl...
  • + 4
If I won this, I'd sell my current one-sixty and buy my son his first real mountain bike.
  • + 6
the winners are all from northamerica... kiwis dont have a chance...
  • + 3
Or you could give hi your current bike and have the new one for yourself
  • + 3
@hrv: on the individual level we have same chance as everyone else. Almost none! (But not none)
  • + 2
@hrv: hey, we can but dream...
  • + 1
@hrv: There are no dealers for us in North America, so it would be very interesting to see if you can win a bike that isn't sold in Canada or the US. I'm hoping though..
  • + 5
where are the rest of the winners?
  • + 4
I had Merida once. Just purely for nostalgic reasons, I think, I am somehow most qualified to win this.
  • + 0
I agree But sorry its for me
  • + 4
Santa's long gone, and I check this site too often to see if I won anything.
  • + 3
What a whopper of a last prize! its not everyday you go into the draw for a bike of this price!
  • + 3
Still waiting for the full list of winners.... PB what's wrong with you??????!!!!!
  • + 1
Probably a load of new accounts entered the prize draw and forgot about it (gonna get neg propped for this but we all know it's true). I remember reading last year if you don't reply to the email in 10 days there is a redraw. But by the time that happens most people will have forgotten about the whole draw in the first place.
  • + 4
Just me coming back 15 times a day to see if I won?
  • + 1
Just wait for your inbox to light up yellow. That should get your heart racing!
  • + 1
@Petrini: Haha it sure did, thanks for that!
  • + 4
I'm compulsively checking my spam folder just to be sure.
  • + 1
 Me to Hahaha!
  • + 0
How fvckin' clean are the lines on this thing? I'd do away with the goofy full floater (like Trek) & put the rear pivot on the axle (like Trek) but other than that, dang mang, shit's pretty much perfect! I'd buy one to rub my stank on.
  • + 3
I'd love to win this for my Pop's. He deserves a new bike. But, if not. I hope someone deserving gets it.
  • + 1
I recently sold my 2003 Kona Coiler I beat the sh!t out of for years. Now house projects keep me from being able to buy a new bike. Come on PB daddy never wins prizes but today is a new day!!!!
  • + 3
If I win this I will give my old 160mm bike to my buddy. He deserves a bike.
  • + 2
 Hey its ur buddy
  • + 3
Dear Santa I am writing because PB has awesome presents. Could you upgrade your services please?
  • + 0

Awsome looking bike. The whole advent calendar was just great. Congrats everyone
  • + 3
When will the rest of the calendar days winners be revealed?
  • + 1
even without looking at the pic, just reading the spec list can drive you crazy. It is a fine steed.Whoever wins this is in for a treat.
  • + 3
Nice bike but did anybody even win it or half the other contests? :s
  • + 2
That rear triangle and shock position look a very similar to the Transition bikes.
  • + 2
Actually, it is much more similar to Treks full floater design that they use on the Remedy. Wonder how it pedals without the Re:aktive shock though? Sweet bike either way. The website doesn't have a country option for Canada though...
  • + 1
@scottziesman: Because Merida owns 49% of Specialized, their is a deal between the two brands that Merida will not sell their bikes in North America
  • + 3
When do they announce the rest of the winners?
  • + 2
Dear Merida Claus, Please replace the coal in my stocking with this shred sled.
  • + 2
not for me can do without the single pivot, sram gearing and boost shite. I'd sell it and but other bits for my current bike
  • + 1
A bike thats a lesser known but sick. Id love to put my large ass on it and put it through some paces.
  • + 2
Screw the white Christmas, I'm dreaming of this

  • + 1
 I have the same question!!
  • + 1
i would love an extra bike. lol I always want my friends to go out and try riding and an extra bike would be perfect.
  • + 1
This would make a totally crap Christmas good,my mrs is in hospital with the possibility of loosing her arm ????????????
  • + 2
Damn, that sounds awful! Hope she'll be fine. All the best to you and your family. I didn't sign up for this one because this isn't quite the bike for me, so maybe that increases your chances slightly. But no bike can make up for your ladies arm, so I hope she can keep it!
  • + 1
Thanks for the ride Pink Bike. The advent calendar makes getting up every day during the dark month much easier. xox
  • + 2
Merida Christmas pinkbike, you have outdone yourselves.
