hella nice bike
Sorry, not parting it out. As for the footprints on the door, don't ask. Keep those compliments coming!
man those rims and single speed sytem are huge down grades of the origional bike
the fork is slight better than the origional but not really

idk where you comin from with the diss on the fork but the wheels and cranks and seat just make the bike look akward. if you had at least a different crankset and seat then you would be spot on. ha sweet bike altogether tho

Mag 30s are still the biggest, strongest rims that Sun makes (significantly stronger than MTXs), and the fork is the absolute top-of-the-line model which put me back over $1000 (as compared to Marzocchi's bottom of the line DJ3, which sells for less than half that and has nowhere near the stiffness, lack of weight or, most of all, adjustments). Multi speeds skip and fall when landing fakie, and being regular footed, a derailleur would only be in the way of pedal grinds and would be more trouble than it's worth. Then there are things like the brakes, cranks, headset, hubs etc. which are also significant improvements over the stock bike. Besides, this bike was custom built from a warantee frame, replacing my old Norco with the separated headtube, so it really has nothing to do with the stocker. Thanks anyway cool kid.
lol.. ahaha i love pinkbike beef. Nice ride! I haave a set of mag 30's my self, i couldnt have baught a better pair of rims.
you said u bought mag30's and couldnt have bought better rims, thats a big lie. there are so many rims out there that are better.
OMG. you are effing retarded.
problem 1- a nutless monkey can spell better
problem 2- thats not how you haggle dumbass

Hahahah, a bit harsh, but that's histerical.
A nutless monkey might also punctuate and abbreviate better though.

Def, Mags are great, but I think I'll go lighter on my next bike. Sorry Fusey, I'm not parting the bike out, and even if I were I'd probably part everything but the fork just 'cause it's so priceless. Colton123, the leat I'd seel my bike for is for me to know and for you to find out, sorry.
Bike is still unsold! This bike whips better than anything I've ever ridden, and I only ride the best! If you have good taste and money, email me!
wow, pinkbike beef is a joke....the pike 454 is the BEST FORK ON THE MARKET.... PERIOD! if anyone has beef with this fork, i'm gonna send a bomb to your email-inbox.... jk.... but seriously, someone please buy this guys's pimp built bike.... i would, but i just built a bike that's a tiny bit better...
Freeriderjazza, I like your style! Hey, you know what's better than a brand new pimpin jump/street bike? Two! Whistler Biker, you should've said that 3 years ago before I proved you wrong with my first set of Mags on my old jump/street bike! Alse, there are about a thousand other people on Pinkbike right now running Mags on their jump/street bikes and loving them, so you better go tell them they're all wrong too.

Not supposed to lick the tires anyway Jordo. But seriously, these tires hook up like nobody's business on hard-pack and concrete, plus you can take them anywhere you want (like around wet grassy corners at speed, which is more than you can say about Hookworms or Holy Rollers). Still, if you really want, I guess I could include a pair of Holy Rollers for a tiny bit more. Man, the things I do for you guys, and I still haven't had an offer over $1500! I paid around $3500 just for the parts (not including the labour of building a custom bike, etc.), and she's still brand new! C'mon, you know you want it.

Sorry Dirtdevil, I wouldn't trade Pike 454 air U-Turns for two 66s. Thanks for the compliment on the bike though.
Mags may be good and strong but in my opinion they are intended for dh, not street. DX32 is the ultimate street rim, super wide and strong, although it may flatspot easier than a mag but it wont bend on hard spins, which is what street is all about. Nice bike anyway.
DX32s tend to have problems with flatspotting and splitting at the seam, and I really don't see any problems with running burly hucking rims on a street bike anyway. Every pro street rider has run big burly rims at some point, and most still do. I can easily hop onto the tallest of picnic tables with the big rims, and the bike spins and hops like it weighs 5lbs less than it does. Where's the downside? Anyway, thanks, I can never hear the words "nice bike" too many times. I just wish someone with $1500 thought so too!

or deemax's or arrow's or atomlab's or funn's or 729's or he could of bought a DT swiss wheelset. but still mag 30s are nice, and a f*cking BEAUTIFUL bike
Specialized94, Mag 30s are much stronger (and unfortunately heavier) than Eight Track rims (aka MTXs), but more importantly, you forgot to tell me how nice my bike is! Wallis_222, I ran the Mag30s off my old street bike, where all the parts came from. I didn't buy them just for this bike. I bought them back then because I was just learning 180s, and was tired of warping the hell out of MX22s and Single Tracks, so I went the whole nine yards and got something indestructible. I later found that thye helped me learn 180s, because they're heavy, so they make you exagerate the motions and you become more consistent. Deemaxs are extremely nice, but were out of my price range, and I didn't want to buy a complete wheelset. Atomlabs would have been a great option, but I chose Sun Ringle instead. I'm not a huge fan of Funn, 729s (or 321s back then) would have been great too, but like I said, I wanted the burliest rims I could find, and Mags beat them out. DTs have the same drawbacks as Deemaxs, and again, they didn't exist when I got the Mags. Oh, and thanks for remembering the compliment!
Not to rag on the bike, its really nice, i have a brand new 2006 416, factory parts though. The Mag 30's were presented on, hm, ride guide i believe and they were tested against the very similar MTX and were found to have problem with the Magnesium cracking around the Metal spoke holes (possibly, due to metal on a different metal contact?). Also, your bike looks very raked out with that Pike, personal preference maybe? i dunno. still a nice bike tho, love that 454, does it have the U Turn adjustment?
I've never heard of (or more importantly, experienced) any problems with Mag30s, and I'm not known for being very easy on parts when I've got my mind set on riding dialing something. I think it's pretty safe to say that Mag30s are considerably stronger, but heavier, than MTXs. And for the last time, it's all irrelevant, 'cause I bought them in 2003 for my last street bike (RIP), when MTXs didn't exist! The Pikes do, as you discovered, have U-Turn, and I run the fork locked at the lowest settting, so the bike doesn't have to be so raked if you don't want. That picture was taken just after it was built, a couple months ago now, before I even sorted out the brake hoses etc, so don't go by how it's set up in the pic. FYI, sinse noone's bought the bike yet, I recently took it on another ride. Well, a rock did some damage to the fork/front brake area, so I won't be reposting this ad 'till everything's replaced and running at 110% again. It is, however, still for sale, so don't think it's off the market just 'cause the ad temporarily disappeared.
haha you showed up that kid. btw thats a sick build, lol the only thing i would change is lower the supension to about 80 mm, and lower the seat hahah. its a dope bike
dude! you guys are trippin' the bike is a beauty who cares if he rides mags its what he prefers
P.S dude love the seat wish i could get my hands on one again!

"[Reply]" button isn't working on my comp, but to answer your question Allday, Mag30s are just Doubletracks with different paint and stickers. Sun Ringle (Sun rims) just paid Intense so they could stick their name on the side and charge more. I knew this when I bought them, but I had always wanted to get myself a pair of Mag30s, so I spent the extra cash anyway. My two favourite parts of this bike that I'll miss the most are the fork and the rims, they were the two things I just had to have! Them and the HFX-9 Carbons!

Thanks man. But I think you're a little mixed up; 4130 chromoly is heavier and stronger than aluminum. The wheels fit that philosophy perfectly. And as the entire bike probably comes in at under 40lbs, I don't think the "f*ckin wheels" are 30.
Man nice bike but make a choise freeride or street those rims are beefy and not realy ment for street but nice
Check out Wayne Goss in Disorder 5 and the Vancouver part of 6, he did some huge 180 lines with Doubletracks on his STP. I'm not the first guy to prefer strong rims to light ones. There aren't many lightweight rims out there that can really take a torsional beating; if you're into big 180s and appreciate low maintenance that lasts forever then I'd strongly recommend Mags. I've broken the axles and hubs so many times, even snapped the wheel clean off the bike by landing fast-spinning 180s, with the ends of the standard chromo axle still clamped firmly in the dropouts, but i've never even bent a Mag30. If you've seen Killing Time, when Lenosky tacos his Tioga Factory DH rear rim with a fast-spinning 180, then you know what I mean. They've survived through a snapped fork, a snapped headtube, and many a broken hub. I really don't understand how anyone could dislike them for street riding. If it wasn't so much time and money to tear apart and rebuild 2 sets of wheels I'd gladly swap them with my EX721s so I didn't have to sell them; I'll probably end up buying another set of Mags for my street bike in the future anyway.
i like how that person said that its a downgrade from the wheels and fork.
marzocchi dj 3's suck
my friend snapped 3 of them. Pike is the way to go. i love mine.
and also mag 30's are great durable wheels. nic esetup man keep riding. ps. lower ur seat lol = )

6'4, 13 feet? I'm 6'1, 13 feet

good luck with the buyer, hopefully it works out

This is the kind of seller that cares about having his bike sold to the right person . He listens to every comment and his bike is sick and has the riding to back him up. Some one offer him 1500 at least!! Dope bike
So make a lower offer or keep it to yourself Griff89. You're well outnumbered anyway, and besides, the bike's worth way more than that to me. Nothing says I have to sell this bike. I love it; the way it's set up now it's one of the very few street bikes in the world that can take a corner without the front end pushing! Of course that can easily be changed if you'd prefer the front end came up more easily.
haha, im sorry bud, but no one cares if you sell this bike.
its not like your doing anyone a favor.
and the pikes may be nice, but they dont look right on that bike.
oversized or something iunno

Yeah, me too! They're the only rims I've ever had on this bike, but I ran one on the back of my Chase for a while and I swear it didn't make a difference coming from an EX721!
ill trade you my ironhorse yakuza chimpira for that. Its a 13inch frame with 24inch rims. Spinner AMMO forks (130-150mm) and dual tektro mechanical dick brakes. A few scratches on the frame and bottom of the forks, no dents or anything.

Hahah, every possible opinion is accounted for here! No idea what "agy" means, but thanks for complimenting me on the rims anyway.

You're telling me, I never thought I'd have to lower the price from $1500 to move this thing. The fork alone retails for what I'm asking!
For one thing, machines are always a she. And I ride her, so she's not a gay bike. Maybe bi though, I know she looks good under a girl in a skirt that's too short to be riding a bike in.
that bike is wicked and if I had some money I'd probably buy off you (no offence against your other parts but I'd probably buy just for the fork and the rims) but I'm poor and un-employed so all I can say is good luck and that the guy who buys this bike is gonna be laughing his head off at the amazing deal he gets on it
So true. I'm not really in a rush though (especially since it doesn't look like I'll have much money to look forward to), so I might raise the price again in the future.
How exactly do Mags ruin the bike? 'Cause they're heavy? The bike weighs around 38.5lbs, and even if the weight of the wheels is noticeable it's not like they keep you from doing anything. Seriously, try putting Mags on whatever you're riding now! You'll feel them but you'll notice that doesn't really change anything (except that you might actually get a bit of muscle after a while!). Noticeable doesn't mean significant. As for the tires, they grip well on all kinds of dirt, they don't hold you back on concrete, and best of all they've got decent sidewalls, which is rare on street bikes these days! I don't know who decided that pinch flats were so great, and where I was when they had that vote, but I'm sticking with my tires that have decent sidewalls! And if anything I should raise the price and you know it!
well the thing is buddy, most people dont run mags on a street dj bike, but its your bike so im not going to say whats wrong with it and what you should get. You could easily get it to flat 30-29 with slick tires, lighter rims, no front brake, lighter bar and stem, and lighter seat and post and cranks
But then I couldn't whoop you in an armwrestle, Kyle7. I did recently ride Adam Hauck's Mob, and it felt really good, I did things on it that I've never been able to do before, but in the end I want to be able to do all those things on a bike like this too, so what's that really worth? It didn't make me any better, it just proved once and for all that things are in fact easier on a lighter bike. Who knew! If my only goal was to be able to do the most tricks, I could always just go 24, or 20, or go the whole 9 yards and get a scooter! Think how many tailwhips you could do on one of those! But that's not for me, I'd rather take the Nigel Quarless approach and not say I can do something until I can do it on a 40+lb Morphine, or this. You probably won't win any bunnyhop competitions, or be doing any triple tailwhips, but bikes like this have a good ratio of making you significantly better without holding you back too much.
