Crap Fox? Excuse me? And have you ridden the Moto yourself?
  • 1 0
no i was just referring to how they did not match not if it was good or not.

I meant Fantaman's post "crap for rear suspension".

Sorry I ment the RC4 not the whole fox rear suspension statement,I just hate the feel how RC4's ride on the trails. The build would been ace if it had the Moto to match the 380,it would make more sense than the RC4

Yeah, the point was that it was a RC4, never heard anyone call them crap before, I've loved both that I've had and all that I've tested as well. Well, guess it's a matter of taste.

And Undeads come stock with RC4:s and I think they've been designed around them as well, so don't know how it would've made more sense with a Moto.

It doesn't matter how much a frame has been designed around a specific shock, if you design a frame around a Fox Van R, it will still be miles better off with a CCDB or Stoy ... And the actual Fox DHX RC4 is not on par with what the other brands offer in term of grip, performance, and even price... I'd rather get a Marzocchi Moto over any Fox shock right now. Yet I'd still prefer a Stoy over anything else.

The Stoy was one of the worst shocks ive ever rode. Rc4 kashima feels a lot better, but not as good as the ccdb but still needs some fine tuning. I guess its a matter of personal taste/frame/weight/riding style, but the number of choices are a great thing, so try to appriciate it, the moto is a great shock, its in a higher class than others mentioned here, but do not forget about the dvo and the öhlins ttx. I would take the ttx over any shock on the market tbh.

way way over priced that ttx but yeah i want one too, i have heard nothing good about them or bad, only the hype of them.

anyone been on one yet?
  • 1 0
Any one can get the 9.5'' ttx demo for their bike if it has the same spring curve, the shock should be fine and the demo tune is about shimstacking.service is for every 50hrs it needs a oil change and seals and shit wears out and need to be replaced every 2 years I was told.Ohlins is damm high quality

Fantaman - Stop bullshitting yourself. If you are significantly slower on a properly set up RC4 you might want to sign up for the UCI WC. CCDB's definitely are nice shocks - I own one myself - but to call a recent RC4 crap is just rubbish. Also I doubt you've done back to back runs on both shocks while timing each section, which is the only way other than dyno testing to really be able to make a judgement.

@Ploutre "It doesn't matter how much a frame has been designed around a specific shock," well finally someone said that! I hate this stupid comments on how a bike frame was "designed" around a shock it's just the dumbest stupid shit I have ever heard. No hard feelings but you have to be a retard yourself to think like that. Beer

Oh, really? Go and tell this to Foes and their Curnutt shocks then Salute The best combo i have ever tried... it doesnt matter yeah right. Just like the new Öhlins with the Demo frames. Guess Öhlins does not know whats it all about, also i must say that the Demo rode the best with the factory tuned CCDB i have had in it... the bos stoy and rc4 doesnt feel as good.

Different shocks have different characteristics, some more progressive than others et.c. Sure, you'll be fine with virtually any shock on the Undead, but the Evil guys themselves have said it's designed around the RC4.
