Looks remarkably similar to mine, I find the front end doesn't lift on the climbs either

Yeah it rides great. Any similarities are purely coincidental, it's the same front triangle as my trail frame I made which was designed around my body size only with a lower bb and slightly slacker at 65 to accommodate sag/ shorter fork. Short chain stays to make it fun and poppy, it was actually designed at the same time as my other frame too. Plus slack steel frames are more commonplace now just look at the production privee, Stanton and BTR (who were probably first and actually made me want to make one).
Our frames do look similar but at the same time if you look at the details they are also a lot different - different seat gussets, head tube gussets, head angle, drop outs, different tubing, seat tube angle and CS/SS gussets. It's a very basic/ common hardtail design adapted to my preferences.

I meant similar in the long front/short rear low bb and a straightish line from HT to dropouts. I have refined mine on my mates bike, his looks far cleaner, finish wise. I must make another to the same standard as his one.

Sorry bud, just didn't want you to think I had straight out copied yours, although yours, btr etc did play a part in me wanting a slack hardtail. We just must have similar taste and body size, ha. I just designed mine to be the easiest to make. The only bits I have to hand file are the disc mounts and mech hanger. Do you sell yours? If so do you have to get them tested? I am years away from selling anything I make but is something that would be cool to do. Im going to be making one for a friend soon (which is a little scary incase it breaks)

Hows your 160m bike coming?

Its on hold due to fatherhood and work taking up all my time. We only make them for people who understand what it means to have a truly unique bike, plus know exactly what they want. mines been fairly brutally tested over the last year and still up for more. I'm running a much stiffer fork now, 150m with preloaded to about 20mm sag when seated. 650b, stealth dropper and bolt through with direct mount mech hanger for future changes.

 How did it ride?

Really well! lots of fun. Haven't ridden a ht in a long time so hard to compare. Pedals uphill better than I expected, as all the weight it at the back it keeps traction and due to the long front its easy to shift your weight to keep the front down. Thinks its going to be the bike i mainly use now! Just need to make and weld on the cable mounts/ stopper so I can run double ring up front and not be stuck in the granny ring! ha. Really does just feel like my first frame just with no sus which was what I wanted.
