very nice, the chain looks so burly,,,is that a standard 1/2 x 1/8th track chain or a regular 3/32th road chain ???...it just looks bigger for some reasons...

yep, definitely a full on track chain, sweet !!!...just look at the thickness of the plates, it's obvious this chain is not meant to be shifted,,,no flex, no stretch, no give, just go go go...I was reading that some of the top track pros were using regular 8-9spd chain (3/32th) for training because it was not as hard and painful on their knees...

Yes bro, I seen that on the article you sent....some riders prefer the slight flex on the other chains especially over a 3-6day event. Me....the slower rides I'll be doing, I think it will be fine? I found a country trail to use the pinky. I have done just over 8 miles on the trail already, but I know there are more miles to cover if I ride further north. It's in the woods also, tarmac flat with only walkers and runners, it's off the main road for safety, and for practice for this new type of riding. travelling north it is on a slight incline...I did 8.2miles in 45mins. Not that good, but I am 20st and 47yrs old lol. It was greasy with leaves and small twigs spread all over the paths...(that's my excuse lol). Riding 3x a week I think I will get a much better time, but it's all fun and exercise...what's the rush? Just go with the flow and enjoy the ride I think....

exactly bro !!!...it's all about enjoying yourself, having some fresh air and a bit of exercise while having a good time, no need to rush anything...it's funny how I'm all into track bikes right now, all because of you, hahaha...just for fun, I might just call Marinoni to see if they would have a Pista (Columbus Zona) in stock...after thinking about it, it would be the perfect bike to set up on the trainer but no brakes on that bad boy...with a dedicated track bike on the trainer, all I would need is a cx for the long road and gravel rides...I'm more and more scared of riding on the road these anyway, a clean steel pista with a cx might just be the way to go...will I kill myself if I ever take the Pista with no brake on the road ???,,,lmao

That red/white bike is sexy !!! Imagine using a front blue aero 5 spoke to give her that French/Canadian look? mmmmm very tasty. I got the track bike buzz off my sisters boyfriend, we chat daily over this build lol. He goes out miles every day, mostly single speed. I can see you building your strength up really fast on a fixie bro...cheap to build and maintain, no oil/air/shock setting/sag etc....just get on her, a lightweight, balanced super speed machine with power down through the cranks and feel the road again !!! Like old school bro...starting all over again. I went 2 miles on the Turner the other day, i looked pissed? I could not ride her! Slack and sloppy, like jelly wobbling all over the road compared to the Wilier !! The fixies are so responsive to the road as you know...like a lowered sports car with super tight suspension with grippy tyres. Get the Pista bro, you only live once !!!! You won't regret it....Columbus tubing...so smooth. What a balanced ride that would be? Pro technology in a new build under half the price of an average downhill rig !! It's got your name on it bro !!!
These are the tyres I'm looking at....

For the Aventon...2x choices,

The Wilier wheels are going Tuesday...this is what I'm thinking of....Aventon wheels, different colour ???

a nice Pista with the oversized Zona tubing would cost a fraction of a a proper road bike fosho or any other bike for that matter...I had Continentals similar to the ultra sport on my last Marinoni and they rocked !!!...great cornering and braking but not necessarily the lightest or fastest as expected...I've never seen those Thickslicks before but it seems like a heavier casing tire built for fixie skidding in mind...the wheels are nice but a bit too flashy for me, you know me bro, hahaha...are they available in boring bad ass black, hahaha...

Yes bro, the white wheels are the new version 2014. The black ones on the Aventon arr the same, but 2013 version. Decals ain't sealed on either, so you got the option to keep the wheels plain, no advertising.
