That’s a great bike. Great colour combo! I’ve got a mustard yellow one and love it although I’ve got an itch to get gears. I can pedal up most stuff but There’s just the one ascent on a loop I do that beats me that I reckon I could pedal up if I could drop down a gear or two. Or maybe i should keep trying and get stronger!

Anyway, I hadn’t thought it possible to but normal gears in there as I assumed the spacing would be narrower, so thought hub gears would be the way to go, although didn’t fancy the reported drag you get with those things.

So did you just convert the exile from quick release to a long 10mm? Any quirks with the setup I’d need to know about, derailleurs that don’t work well with the dropouts etc?

Your advise as a fellow cotic simple rider would be much appreciated!
