I will say a good pair of snap ring pliers is a necessary shop tool!

I've used the lower interchangable pair a few times and it absolutely refuses to remove internal snap rings due to poor construction of the tips. Now the Knipex has no problem at all! Snap rings go off and on in about 2 seconds flat.

How much are the Knipex?. Also what is it that uses those pliers, cranks?..Do you know if you need those pliers for Rockshox Pike rt3 forks?..

I paid $27USD for them and they are for removing the main internal snap rings/circle clips that hold the fork internals in the stanchions. I don't know if that Pike would need them though I would not be surprised if they did. See if SRAM has a manual for the fork and that should show the snap ring on the bottom of each stanchion.

In fact in my pic you can see the snap ring lying next to the pliers and stanchion of my Lyrik

Ok thankyou. So they are for your forks!, it was the chainring bolts that confused me in picture and I thought that was a crank axle but its a stanchion.
I will take a look at the manual...Smile
