Thanks. It will prob get a silver chain. The gold I pulled out of my old chain bin to hold the derail forward. Did not want to cut a new chain for a short cage when I am ordering a medium that will work.

You know you mentioned about the derailleur, is it a direct mount rear derailleur you mean not front mech?, if so what Shimano rear derailleurs are direct mount, can you direct mount most of them, like Zee, just take the bracket off the top of the derailleur?..
