i think iv seen way to many of these casts. Kona needs to stop letting asians make their bikes because they obviously dont know how, im sure if they moved their factory to Europe on NA they wouldnt have as many problems with them breaking
lame. Kona aren't made in asia... They're made in Canada. My friend busted his Kona. I had my Giant for 4 years now and it's made in asia. And i do the same things as my friend and my frame is perfect.
why does this guy have negative props for this comment??? i've had 2 norcos and they've caused me nothing but problems so whoever gacve negative props is retarted
all you guys slating Norco's are total wankers. And getting a Kona instead.... well youve just made things 50 times worse for yourself. Norcos are indestructable.
we've taken out the humour in this picture to analyze if it really was for humour or does this guy just suck, or the big question is it really the bikes fault, but if you think you have a sense of humour why worry about us grumps frolosophy
I've got an 06 Coiler and rides like a dream... its strong and i've tossed it around without a dent, all bike frames are made of aluminium (bar a couple) and aluminium has the same strength on any bike!
The reason everyone has pics of Konas breaking is because so many people have them so there will be more pics of them breaking. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THEM STOP BUYING THEM
The reason you only see kona versions of these is because anyone can write the kona logo, it's just stencil font, its a dam sight harder to write Specialized did this
Also those who say they're made in China, they're not they're made in North America in USA or Canada
I know you've seen me ride but you don't know me so why are you being an ass? and if you don't ride your stuff why do you have it on your Pink bike profile as bikes you ride? and I've seen you ride at marlston (wearing a neck brace? at local woods)and yes you probably better then me but any respect i might have for you being a better rider has gone because you're an a**hole about it.
ok well take a wall mart bike out and do a 50ft double and i'll bet ya the second u land the bike will shatter into a million peices even if ur an amazing rider
it doesn't even describe how he did it, it could have been riding to school for all we know, he just doesn't want to man up, and if it was cuz the kona broke it's still his fault cuz he could have bought a better bike it should really read "I DID THIS"and maybe in brackets "CUZ I SUCK"
hubert was talking about how he was reinforcing the axles with metal axles and i remember him saying they did one other thing too but im not sure. it wasnt in the mega ramp one it was in another one that they were using tricyles
i totally agree with you... you never see any pro snap there frames (i havent so dont flame me)... and usualy people do push there bikes too far, there strong but there not invincable.
Here my 2cents, I do feel it is the riders fault for any frame that snaps, unless frame was damaged b4 you got it. I do notice with alot of the kona pics the frame snaps around the head tube, with seeing that i would think they would take a little bit of there time and brace the head tube with little more support to the top and down tube. well thats my 2 cents, are konas crap i cant say never road one and i wont judge by other peoples broken frames cause any frame can snap if not maintain right.
one thing, i dont know what your on about with you talking about racing, secound thing its doesent matter if we look stupid, saves our necks, and really.. they dont look stupid . thridly your the one that looks like an idiot with an oversized jersey and you cant ride...
Ever think he can ride and because of his hard riding he broke?...I've only ridden a kona once or twice and i didn't like how it felt...you ya maybe can blame the bike...
good point but i would say that you only really need them if you race a lot otherwise not really. and the reason its oversized is cuz I need it to go over my armour. and i can ride just not as good as you...
and we do a fair bit of racing and get podiums so why not use the stuff you use at races for local woods otherwise it will be wasted. And you never no when you could injure your neck?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH KONA AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
yea im guna have to say i just hate konas all konas are but ugly to me.... the shonky is the only bike i would want to ride, and thats only if you gave me it for free cause id much rather ride a different frame.. just my opinion
thats so funny, and yeah you can blame the bike, i know a few ppl who have had konas that all have errors in the frame, it cuz they arent hand crafted....thats funny POD POD POD !@
i may get yelled at for this... but dont ppl make mistakes? and thats y lots of stuff is made by machines cause they dont get tired and always do the same thing?
Even if you got Mexicans to do it, it would cost far more because they could say things like 'Hand crafted' or 'hand made' and charge you extortionate amounts, it's still a business after all they don't really care about their customers, no one does
corporate companies don't. thats why you buy rider owned and operated companies frames because they know what people like and have problem been on a shitty ass frame made by some big corporate company that snapped on them
o i can ride prity good...but i like to piss people off so i just said that. if i had a stinky i would have pics of it... people are so god damn gulable if any thing its ur own fault ur arm got fucked up lol
lol i was gonna say u didnt learn after buying the first 1? and kona didnt do that you did it by 1. not riding it properly 2. being cheap and buying a shit bike
no the kona is not a crappy bike just the rider hat broke the kona didn't know how to ride good if you know how to ride good and fast you can't brake anithing no kona no boxxers....
then how come so many konas break and you rareley ever see a picture of other frames snaping. you do see alot of those pics but its not consistenly the same company
dude did u count how manny konas are out in the world? i didn't and the boxxer is the most used dh fork... i know a dude who rides a kona and has nothing bad to say about it...
I've ridden a Kona for 2 years now with no problems! it's just that Kona make so many bikes that the proportion that snap are probably the same as any others it's just more snap because there are more Konas
I had a 08 bass that I rode 3 seasons of sun peaks on, 2 seasons of racing. I beat the crap out of that bike. The frame finally snapped a few days ago. I think that for 3 years of that shit my frame held up pretty good?
06 stinky snapped. Early 06 links bent so were braced by making them solid, and all 06 models suffered from weak points on the front of the chainstay which ive see break firsthand on at least 3 maybe 4 bikes.
