I was riding single speed, with a rohloff chain tensioner and a narrow wide chainring. Never dropped a chain. But i recently broke the tensioner. Chainless is nice because it's so quite. Yeah, you definitely need to be off the brakes to keep speed. It's not so bad being chainless here in whistler because most of the trails are steep and/or flow really well.
What do you think about riding chainless ?
Currently i'm riding my dh single speed, i find it really nice, but my chain is dropping off all the time...
This summer i rode 3 days chainless (due to mechanical problems), i found it nice too, but sometimes when i was braking too much, i had a lack of speed, so i had to wait to speed up, which is pretty annoying :/
But i think it's a good way to learn to be less on the brakes !
I'm probably going soon to ride chainless... (I always have too many drivetrain problems ahahah)
