so you can get more control when braking and stop faster. it would also make a better more progressive brake

i think its for looks, avids have alot of stopping power you dont need two...

ive always wondered why they never made that but i guess you dont really need the stopping power of two

I've seen duel disc brakes on £200 bikes lol, but they were rubbish compared to this.

When shimano was first making disk brakes their first one had two rotors. the rotors were side by side in one caliper, but the caliper had three pads and inbetween the two rotors was the third pad that didnt move and the other two pads sandwiched the rotors together. it was to powerful for use so this never put them on the market
