POD
hahah, they had a different POD of a girl riding at like 2:00am last night, and they changed it, PWNED
Another version is, "If you do not commit...you must acquit!" A bit of a cryptic reference to the O.J. trial: "IF the glove does not fit, you must acquit." Totally rad photo. Party on, my American brother!
loving this pic! i cant ride normally with a bag on, let alone wearing one whilst doin something as big as that! amazin stuff, keep it up! =D
cheers dude. and as bags go, if you get a decent bag with chest and hip straps as well as compression straps on the back, you can tighten it all up and it just makes you feel a bit fatter rather than having shit moving around on your back... dunno how this pic of me is better than the one i put in my album though =P still... not complaining
man, you're nuts. At the campsite in les gets we were at last week there was a guy with a cast from his hand to his armpit. He'd broke his wrist in 5 places trying the 10footer at chatel - and I assume that one youre doing is NOT the 10 footer! Props.
lol i remenber coming home from high school, jumping off curbs or doing step ups in the streets, and my bag always jumped higher than me lol, cos it had no hip strapes to keep it tight. do the freeriders who drop off cliffs use backpacks for extra protection? i remenber seing bender on the karpiel days wearing a backpack, and i always thought it was a padded one, to give an extra suport to his body armours.
My pops was wearing a pack and fell ~10' straight to his back, had came out fine. And he already had a f'd up back. I'm guessing the water in the pack help too...
yeah, i was just asking because probably next year i'm going to attempt my first backflips. i allready have a relatively safe jump with a sandy landing but i'm thinking about wearing a regular backpack filed with an air pillow, and alot of high density foam on my attempts. it's just... i know what is to break bones and how painfull it is. i'll never stop riding but i'll do whatever it takes to stay out of the hospitals

did they change the days POD was yesterdays pod a chick riding that was horrible or was that todays and they changed it to this
We changed it because the original shot for today was not POD worthy at all and we caught it in time to make a swap. Enjoy the huck!
hey, not bad, I was there also. there was some pretty good riders.
Good pix for sure

Not the same drop, that ones the one a little further down. Props to the rider though as the landing was sketch.

nice to see pod makin a comback. ne idea just how big the drop was. i hit a 17 ft. when i was 15 and this looks right around that.looks fun...props.
i did land it yeah... only hit it the once though which i now regret, i'd love to go back and do it some more, maybe tweak the bike out sideways or something. Scared the crap outta myself at the time though (which kinda validates dknittel's comment too). Biggest drop i've ever hit.
In an ongoing effort to create more varied abbreviations - I dub this type of maneuver the "APMP Jump" or Almost Pooped My Pants Jump"

good on you mate.... i just came back from over there.... one really sketchy run in to that drop.... vertical run in to short take off..... not great.... i bottled it... ah well good for you that you done it.. hope it was landed tho, that landing is sketchy 2
Was just going to say what graham said ^
Came back from France yesterday. I was stood at the top of it the other day wanting to do it but bottled it due to the run-in!
The mud was about 3-4 inches further back that the ladder if you get me, it would have been like hitting a brick wall, however i think the run-in ladder had come loose too.
Wish i'd hit it, good man!
