its not on the left, its on the right and the pic is mirrored. look at the brake mounts on the fork...

its up to you.. some people like to have it on the left if they ride motorbikes coz on a motorbike the brake is on the left and the right is the clutch..

I used to ride with my back brake on the right side but cos I live in the Scotland everyone has them on the left side I just got used to it

most people here ride rear brakes that side too, it feels nicer and the left hand gives strong enough braking and the right hand has the most power for the front, it is annoying switching from friends bike that are the other way though
