Also, I'm really dreading the fact that in a while the 12yearolds are going ot get home from school and bombard us with the "konas are crap" and "cause he's on a kona" comments...Be warned everyone.

i agree with samgf1993 i dont ride a kona either but some konas are actually pretty good even though i would never buy one because i dont like the feel of them

that jump is far too small for the speed from that track you can see it from the photo , cool shot tho

Kona's are solid. Yes there are better bikes, worse bikes, and different bikes... it all boils down to rider skill, and how comfortable you are with your rig.

WHY THE HECK DOES EVERYTHING REVOLVE AROUND KONA!!??!! its a picture not an ad or debate. Everyone has a different opinion, no one is wrong or right, and its not like the out come is going to save the world, so why cause such and argument. Can't you just worry about the important things like if he was o.k. and stuff, not the bike.

It's partly the fault of the guy that mentioned the Kona in the first place, and partly the fault of the retards that followed suit and added their (uneeded) two cents on the topic.

Looks like he could have stopped the rotation on one of the wheels causing a quick nose dive. The take-off looks pretty good, but things sure go south real fast after that.
Looks like the landing is a bit close for that big take off! I can see from the run in how it could be easy to get alot of speed.

more like: learn how to land properly in extreme cases/angles... like come on, you over do a jump and your about to land it on a flat, do you just let your bike and the flow tip you forwards and nosedive into the dirt? It's called aerial control people!
halfords may be able to get konas, but that doesn't make them a bad bike. if it did, then most bikes on the market must be bad, as they can get any bike in if wanted, specialized, dmr, etc.

Umm...why is everyone all of a sudden defending konas like every 2nd person is dissing them? NOT ONE PERSON has genuinley said konas are crap yet... so wtf guys.

All I got say.. Konas "Clump" team is a slopestyle/DJ team.. Thats all theres to it!!
Another I really dont like Kona!.. Their bikes to me feel boring and dead, You need to add a floating brake to get improved brake performance (Oh yay more weight added to a Kona, Make it feel like a lead coated boat anchor!!).. Out of all the 2009 bikes comming out I havent seen a more "Trendwhore" line-up!! Rocker-links are white, Lowers are white, Rims are white, The WHOLE F-ING BIKE IS WHITE!!! Let the rider do the talking not the bike!!

2 of my friends cracked the dirt jump one and i cracked a old stab and my other mate just recently snapped a sinky wingarm

why are people always overshooting jumps? you would hurt yourself less if you landed before the landing
sequence #8 is when you REALLY know your in the shit and gonna be eatin dirt real soon.

That jump is way to big for that landing. I think he wasn't the first or the last to overshoot that landing. To bad tho since people really can get hurt on thing like that.

I'm having flash backs to when I broke my back and both arms this summer. Same situation, only I rotated forward a bit more and landed exactly upside down. It's bad news if you get bucked like that!

next time go faster, it will hurdle you upward toward the end of the jump than right when you reach the focal point of your night, f*ck the first chick you see
(Sarcastic Voice) I'm pretty sure even Konas come with some sort of braking device, next time maybe try using those when you come into the jump.

What happened to the POD's with really epic scenery, a good lighting, and a skilled rider. This is fun to look at but its not the best photo on pinkbike today!

i wouldnt be surprised to hear he broke both of his collarbones by sticking his arms out like that.. i know it sounds anti-intuitive but your much less likely to hurt yourself if you take the impact on your shoulder. maybe a bruise but not a broken wrist/collarbone or dislocated shoulder
BUILDERS FAULT! NOT BIKE OR RIDER. Never ever do you want to have to break before hitting a jump like that, so why have the builders put a tabletop kicker and a step down landing???? The gap is far too small. Reps to the guy for hitting it though!! awesome pic!!
Awful jump, what the f*ck was the builder thinking, a run-up like that, a fair sized kicker, and almost no transition/landing. If someone built that in our ark, they'd get sacked.
