OMFG
yo yo...
I just checked with Marin, they dropped the discount to us another 5%.
That said - we can offer the bike (complete) for $2170 + shipping ($45).
I see that you're in Washington State. NICE KID NICE!!!
Some of those photos on your page, that you?
Getting back to the Marin. We're moving out of our current location at the end of the week but can still pimp some on-line orders since we're actually going to have two locations open for a short time (we're moving like a 1/4 mile away). See our website for details on that.
Anywho -- if you want one, let me know ASAP cause I'll get one working for you before I closed the books on the old location.
FYI: as for payment: sorry --- it's gotta be Paypal. Unless you actually 'slide the card' in person, we no longer take CC's over the phone.
Feel free to email me direct at pedalshop@aol.com
Amazing bike - I'm sporting one. I love it!!!

$1000
small for sure if you're 5-8
yep
spring weight depends on the type of ride you want from the bike --- I would say one spring rate up from stock if you want a plush ride, two steps up if you want something on the firm side.
Here's the thing, as with many other complete FS's, spring rate is sort of hit or miss. Since Marin doesn't make the shock sometimes they have to take what they can. One bike will have a 450 spring, the next will have a 500. It's very common, I see it all the time, NOT just with Marin, with other brands too. I would suggest, try out the stock spring first. If you want a harder ride, we'll trade it out for you. OR you can just buy an extra spring.

I had mine built up at 42lbs ---- beefy in many depts.
Coil shocks (heavy)
Michelin tubeless tires (heavy)
Saint cranks (heavy)
old issue Avid Codes (heavy)
bike never felt heavy when riding...
even at 42lbs, it was very flixable
know plenty of customers who built them up lighter with just a few changes from stock.
sweet ride no matter what the weight is!!!

OK, now you're actually getting on my nerves.
what a bunch of dorks...with the tank comments...
you guys ride with blinders on?
and the whole spelling the F-bomb in a way it doesn't get flagged -- that's just totally stupid.
ever read reviews?
the bike has smoking reviews.
Marin's Mount Vision (same design) bike of the year 2 years in a row.
You momma looks like a tank too but she's a sweet ride.

back up hattrick 100% i bought a quake from him and more then satisfied.
mine weighs 42 but feels like its 37, the damn thing does every thing like a champ.
it climbs super easy, but just slow (or im really outa shape which is more likely the case)
and as far as looks.... who the hell cares?? its not like your sleeping with it... and if you are please go to counceling and have you unit checked for metal splinters.
the bike is amazing in every aspect!
get over looks and ride one!

Just built up the 2008 7.3 (baby shizick yellow). OK, for the record, NOW that IS ugly!!! With just a few minor changes, the thing is hitting the scale at 39.2 --- I plan on putting the Shimano SLX's, Maxxis tubeless rim strips and a couple other small mods. That'll drop the bike down to 37ish (not that I really care, just stating facts about weight). Stills68, yeah, I don't sleep with my bikes. I might spoon a little but that's about it. As for the climbing: anything freeridey is gonna suck as far as long long climbs that are say, more than a couple hundred yards. As far as actually being about to climb short climbs, I can climb pretty much anything and I swear, it climbs better than some of the twinky XC bikes I have had. The rest of the freeridey stuff, the bike just rocks.
