It can hold your crank in place while you do pedal grinds? That all I can see it's good for, lol.

oh wow thats good, but wouldn't that snap your chain really easy? since the only thing stopping the wheel is the chain? but pretty cool idea. but you would probably hit your rotor alot since i find i'm always hitting my chainrings off things.

unless there is a front freewheel, why? slow down your pedaling?

i think its just a better idea to keep the brake on the hub lol. i don't think this is going to provide any more braking copabilities. plus when it heats up you would probably burn your leg by accident.

that would also have to be a fixed gear.

some of you need to do some research
your not gonna be hittin your rotor on anything with this bike
and its a fixed gear meaningif you pedal backwards it goes backwards you pedal forward it goes forward and there is no freewheel so having a rotor here does make sense cause it can be hard to slow down sometimes on a fixed gear

Thanks, but it's not my bike. I found it on Velospace for the craziest bike/part thread. If I ever run into some money though, I'd love to build something like this.

Looks like the brake costs more than the whole bike. . .

that would slow you down sooo much faster. its stoping you before any sort of gear reduction. so you would need little pressure to slow you down

Uhh, take off the chain and lube it off the bike. You can get the lube to penatrate the chain better that way too. Wink

People ride fixies for the simplicity and ease of transport, why add more complications?
