in reply to sickriderch "..not chilled at all! this dude looks pretty stressed =)"
I'll be honest. I was proper shitting myself. The Takeoff for the step up before it had been destroyed and half washed away by the constant rain from the entire week before, so I had to start from on top, pedal and pray. It wasn't a very long run in, so I was scared as hell I'd come up short. I'm just grateful Nefas came to France with me (and some other mates) to take some awesome pictures.
Mattf,
Don't feel like you have to explain yourself to these idiots. Rarely is everyone happy with the Pick Of the Day. It's a great photo...you know that and a most of us here know that too!
samo2705. yes, it was the second shot in this sequence that was POD before.
As for how I landed. The video is on my profile here http://www.pinkbike.com/video/1296/ (red top on the bottlerocket is my mate simon, green top with bag on a specialized bigshit is me)
Again, thanks to Nefas and his wife. Without them I'd just be riding and there'd be nothing to show for it. But they're both pretty handy behind a camera.
I just checked at your vid... the landing look pretty tough, I could definitely not pull that on my 110/100mm howler. I've been in Chatel snowboarding last christmas (I was precisely in Avoriaz which is times bigger and connected to Les Gets, Chatel...among others) and I can say the north shore platforms are still there. This summer the big thing will be in Avoriaz wit the roof'an slopestyle.
Great choreography on the shot. Good use of multiple riders, these riders would be great at synchronized swimming. Anyone interested in starting a "Synchronized trials troupe." Visualize this, strategically positioned trials riders, in pastel matching gear, performing choreographed trials moves in synch to music. Fully sponsored riders will get a full "Monty." I smell new event. Sea Otter are you listening? HarHar
Hey mattf, wicked shot bro, as a great aussie band once putit "Youve got BIG BAWLS". All theese people that are raggin on you have some serious problems in "life skills" dept. they are probablly the types who constantlly make fun of other people and don't enjoy life. SO be proud put a big smile on your face cuz that is one sick drop. Cheers
nice pic... there are of course bigger drop's but it's a decent one.. those here that are saying "Small drop" i'd like to see any of you hitting a bigger one.. All i'm saying is if you're gonna rag on him then you better have some backup picture's eh ?? Props to the rider and photographer
Gout-Scout (25 mins ago) (Below Threshold) show comment This is so neato! I love their matching jerseys and bikes. It's a wonder how they kept from landing on each other. I wonder it they're all related?
how do they get all those guys wearing the same clothes, riding the same bike and jumping directly one after another after another. joking thats a pretty rad photo
for everyone who thinks they are all different riders, your f*ckin stupid. its just a sequence shot of one guy hitting the drop....the drop looks kinda fun to
Crazy! I love it! I will share it with my friends on meetwealthyboomer.com (a great place for all 30 plus singles to meet love and romance). Many biker lovers there!
Cmon guys, this step down was already the subject of a POD last summer, you have to go ahead, Chatel is a small park here in french Alpes. Also I think the guy is nose diving a little bit here.
Great action anyways.
