that is sweet
yeah it looks pretty sweet but why do you ride singlespeed? your chain will break everytime if the suspension starts workin'
Scotty did a ride with the DHX AIR pumped up so much it was almost a hardtail, but even with it pumped up very high, the chain still snapped, he's gone to gears since I think.
Nice lie "runner" idk if you know him or not but the bike is designed like the cowan with a special pivot so it doesn't shorten the chains distance. Why else would it be single speed compatible, im shure banshee kept that in mind..
Freerideguy14, you're insanely wrong. Can you not see the pivot behind the chainring or something? It's not around the BB at all. The chain stretches, and I'm sure this setup didn't last very long.
Im wrong about the BB I admit that. "The chain stretches, and i'm shure this setup didn't last very long." Im pretty shure he still has that setup. The linkage is designed to be single speed compatble like the cowan or bass (same thing) Check the banshee site.
As the rear pivot is above the BB, there will be chain growth. If the rear pivot was below, there would be chain shrink. Either way, it's a pretty dumb idea to run it SS without a tensioner.
the frame geometry probably allows a constant chain stay length throughout the stroke of the shock, normally you would have the pivot point around the BB shell to allow that but it must work with the pivot slightly above otherwise he wouldnt run it like that

there is no way that would work because the pivot is above the bottom bracket, the wheel path changes as it goes through its travel, the wheel would be further away like every centimeter of travel...take the shock off any fully (except the cowan ds of course) and measure the distance from the axel to the center of the BB when in the nuetral position, then again when it is compressed, the last measurment will be more gaurenteed.
Yes it is...The pivot is in one piece look for a second at a SXtrail frame...It has a 2 piece pivot...
