thats pretty good timing on the shit
Time to adjust your suspension or get a heavier weight spring. Your seat shouldn't hit your back tire and guide shouldn't hit the ground... But cool pic..
tremblay you know that he could have just hucked somthing big and that would bottom out the suspention as well, btw heavier springs on a dh bike make the ride suck and put more stress on the shock
actually i threw on a heavier spring onto my sunday. it rides a thousand times better.
and shocks are made for the tiny amount of stress from the coil. Its the frame that takes the stress not the shock.

theres nothing wrong with bottoming out, whats the point in have 9.5 inches of travel in this case (cos its an M3) and only using 8 of the inches of travel. some people are stupid
tremblay if i was u i wouldnt talk to more suspension is supost to go down , thats the whole point, i think uve only ever seen bmx's ent ya ?
I have had 3 downhill bikes ... stinky, shore 2, and a banshee chapperal ... If there is nothing wrong with bottoming out, why would they sell heavier weight springs?
for heavier people. tf say you should run 25% sag but i have rode that and felt to soft because im not a smooth rider. so i run about 10% so they do different weight springs for how people like there bike setup.
you should bottom once or twice every harsh ride! the reason for heavier springs is to avoid harsh bottoms out. which arent good for you bike. and can be painful for you.
i done something like this on my stab...... but got my ass cuaght between the seat an the tyre. i now have a big scar from the burn it gave me
you cant f*ck up a bike like that,it was designed to go that way and he just took a big drop thats all

i dnt care if people give me negative props for this but i would a quite worried if my bike did tht i mean i know its suposed 2 use all of its travel but tht just looks broken

bikes arent meant to bottom out they are meant to keep from bottoming out...so that must be a pretty big ass drop to have a flat landing like that
no, not quite...
suspension is a mechanism used to make things a little less harsh on the rider and make the bike track terrain much more instead of skipping around... henceforth making the bike and/or the rider faster, not to keep the bike from bottoming out...
thats what a progressive or a hucking setup is for, the suspension is valved and sprung to do its best to avoid bottoming out... a purely DH setup is meant to lay pavement over anything it can handle... and in my opinion, a DH setup should have no trouble bottoming out even off a 3' drop...
i have 9" of travel on my bike, and i bottom it out(the rear at least... my fork needs a rebuild and the PAR chamber taken out
) off of what seems like everything... but you know what, its the fastest damn thing i've ever ridden!
valve your suspension right and learn how to really ride a bike, and its easy to get the best of both worlds though!
i just need to learn how to valve mine
i mean BMX bikes are eternally bottomed out if you think about it... are they meant to be that way? i'm pretty damn sure!
*rant off*

i have the same problem with the seat
i took a hacksaw to it and cut out a spot where my tire can come up into the seat without hitting it
it kinda ruined my seat, but hey weight shavings!!!

Reading through the comments on this pic is so evident that there are a lot of people out there that claim to understand the mechanics and physics of downhill mountainbikes. THEY DONT, THEY REALLY DONT.
Ive just been reading through some of the so called mechanics comments on here, and to be quite honest its comical.
