i think it's time to choose a different make of bike
im sure i can find a pic of a transition or a specialized that has snapped its frame

well fabien barel rides for mondraker now and no top pro ever rides stock frames. have you ever seen paul bass hardtail it looks totally different. fabien barels bike had totally different geo and it was lighter. you are an idiot.

kona might not be the best brand out there but we dont need to critsize(sp.) them for this, it could happen to any bike at anytime
Surprise Idiots! Kona, Specialized and Giant frames are all made by Giant Bikes. The only kona thing about it is the geometry... Think about that before judging the company.
specialized and giant probably do more testing on there bikes put the metal where its needed in the weak points

wow i cracked a kona frame that bike took a shit kicking i tried everything and it keep taking it. every bike has a limit and my friend snap of the headtop off this norco and kona hooked me up with a 09 kons shonky inc complete bike one of 50 made there a great bike company

They are obviously not shit, they must be one of the most successful bike manufactures in the world, how many old konas do u see around compared to new bikes, the reason for that is because of durability, they last an age. Why does everyone in the freeride scene ride bloody stinkys? Cause there incredibly good for what u pay and are super strong. Why do some of the best ride for them, cant be that bad if Fabien Barrel won 2 world chapionships on them... All the best slopestyle rides use them, John Cowan, Paul Basagoitia, Grant Fielder, Andre/Lluis Lacondeguy, Robbie Bourdon... Enough said

all i have to say is that you see more snapped konas than any other mountain bike company out there. and not EVERY one of them is going to snap or else they would most likely go out of business thats why your 7yr old stab is still going. but the are more pictures of konas snapped than anyother..

And do you doubt Giants manufacturing capabilities? They havent changed their design much if it all as "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". It doesn't need changed. If their bikes were dangerous they wouldn't be allowed to sell them. Pro riders don't pick the bike they ride. If Kona choose not to run a Pro race team then that's Kona's choice.

uh iv seen all types of bikes break similar to that, my friends headtube had a huge crack on his v10 last year
thats one steep section! And yes any bike can break, i saw a brand new orange snap over a small set of doubles the last time i was spectating, but he could have had a bigger crash earlier.

On the pt.2 of the video (on youtube) we can see that the down side of the down tube is deformated to the sides. The upper tube not. I'm not shure but I think it might be something like hitting a tree. Or mayby the upper tube broke and he started to brake front brake really hard.

i've had a stab supreme 7 now since they we're released... hasnt cracked... hasnt snapped... it's just... Kona is made for smooth riders, not people that try to land as hard as they can to bottom-out for a good photo... so stop saying kona is shit... i'll find you photos of specialized, santacruz, transition, ironhorse, scott's that have snapped, and honestly, that guy doesnt look to dirty for a guy that just cased so hard is frame snapped...

i dont like the duallies from kona dont like the susp. setup at all but because there is a few snapped konas dont mean they are the only bike in the world capable of snapping

SIGH, seeing as am always last to comment on things like this i might as well tigh up the hole god dam isssue, ok Kona bikes aint worth hating, there fun to ride and many people started on them but seriouly there not a very good bike company, sure if your on there team your be fine getting free repairs and replacments and all the tech u could ever need but what really counts is the realy people the realy riders and for this Kona fall behide companys like Specialised for Tech Value And Build Quality Trust me I compared my demo 7 To a stinky Primo and set aside the parts the frame of the kona felt weak when compared, Not saying Kona are shit because of this exact picture but seriouly there not good bikes you've just got to remember just because a pro rides for em it doesn't make the bike company any better Take seat peat He may ride a pedal ass friendly bike now with f*ck loads of tech but before he was on good on orange probably the most basic bikes you can buy and he still f*cking owned the feild

every one that says kona sucked heres what i think. I used to think they were shit buy now they are getting really good and you see the pros with there bikes and they ride them hard and they dont brake they always have the exact same bike as always but they dont get new ones and ya i know they can make the same frame but its always the same frame if you know what i mean. Konas are good now!
For alot of you morons here, if a bike snaps on the welds, then the welds were big shit because welds are stronger than the metal tube itself. But i have to admit that i've seen a sh*t lot of konas broken near the headtube, but this beats many of them. Any bike can brake, but not as often as Konas do. Sh*t who cares if pros ride konas? They ride them because they have everything free. I don't like Konas much, i don't say they're sh*t, but lets be honest with ourselves, they aren't great either.

just putting it out there i own a stab deluxe, and i love it, so much control the suspension design works well for racing and dhing, kona isn't the only bike that snaps, any frame or fork can snap, its just a matter of luck pretty much, they all are made pretty much the same, same materials, welding and such, how you ride the bike makes a difference
kona is like a benz, u buy it and think ur al special cuz u got one, then u ride it and such, for a hile and realize it's not al that greatand u could have spent the extra money to get a better bike

You guys have no idea what this rider did in order to break his bike. He could have launched a gap and landed flat on a rock face after descending 30 feet for all you know.
