It is defo a photoshop job to me but that aint a criticism. Who cares if photoshop has been used......it's a great photo and the lighting is excellent. Good work!

camera with slow shutter, here1/60sec.,the Fotog go with the same tempo like the rider.
you need externel flashes for freeze the riders... thats it
and this technic excisted much looooonger as the photoshop!!;-))

looks to me like he used a fast shutter speed and panned the rider to freeze him and blur the background

Super props to joe-freeride08 i totally agree with his post kinda boring pic but like the scenery is sick but kinda not POD quality i'd rather see sweet air and mad tricks or awesome street riding, BMX or W.E don't get me wrong the odd DH pic is nice when it's like an action shot but this one isn't really POD quality but that's just my opinion

OH MY GOD wow someone has managed to holdf a camera to shoot a crappy and blurred picture of sam hill so it must get pod becasue he is the best dher....this sport is doing my head in at the moment! yeh hes a good rider but from his past we have learned he can be very inconsistant, hes sooo uninteresting to watch/read interviews with and isnt the most smooth rider to watch! but some credit is he has mega balls to go that fast!
If he isnt very smooth then how does he keep beating everyone by such huge margins? Is he constantly clipping trees and getting all out of shape yet somehow the gods are on his side and he always gets away with it, no HE IS VERY SMOOTH. And who cares if his interviews are boring, this is DH racing. I dont care what riders have to say, I just like watching them ride and riding myself - that's the point of it all.
You're the one getting so enraged by a single website image - I and others would rather just get out and ride. Get your priorities straight.

I am so sick of the "new school" pictures. Dont get me wrong the trick stuff is crazy crazy technical and hard but it just is not as cool as a guy givin' er hell down a mountain or hucking...

Ok, so this picture is absolutely stunning...the only thing I don't like is that fact that it is of Sam Hill. Amazing pic though!!!
People just don't get the message... IT'S NOT THAT GOOD A PIC! It's been photoshopped to hell and back with the blur tool, and that spoils it!
what the hell though ... this is a great picture of an amazing rider. he is in real good focus so the picture is not blurry at all, its been photoshopped to look like that to give it a cool finish and it does look cool so i dno what every1 is complaining about !! i say good pod and well done the phtographer for making the pic look really good ... if it wasnt a good shot it wouldnt be POD so shut up everyone who slaggs this pic off. well done photographer for the pod its well deserved !!!
