I enjoy it. I used to own a 94 YJ with a 2.5L and a 98 TJ with a 4.0L. If had to do it all over again I would have stuck with the 4.0, they're probably the best engine Jeeps ever put out in my opinion. But as far as classic jeeps go, a CJ5 with a 304 is awesome. Now all I need to do is put a bigger tranny in it and Ill be set. Its for sale by the way and Im takin any reasonable offers into consideration.

i just bought an 81 cj7 with a 304. i have done a bunch of searching of them, and my dad has biult some but thought i'd ask someother people as well.

i have a 304 in my 81 cj7 and looked it up when they were brand new they had 125 hp unless urs is stroked i doubt u get 290 even though the 73 304 is way better then 81 290 is hard to believe but there are very torquey engines

yeah from 79 i think, to about 81/81 they have a whole bunch of smog bullshit on them, which cut down the horse a ton.
