why does the other intense ridr i think matti, have to have custom frame with a bent downtube to cater for the back arch of the manitou travis fork but kovarik doesnt?

Kovarik likes his cockpit high, so there is no need.

I can't believe he did that course in 12:35. I can't see how the racers just keept getting faster on that course. Unreal. Also, that fork looks like it could have a lot more than 8" of travel.

flag fr3erid3r (Jul 10, 2008 at 11:53)
thats cause manitou needs to make their stantions bigger...

flag onone26 (Jul 10, 2008 at 19:38)
he might have the crowns higher than the actual 8 inches of travel....so that they dont perhaps come close to hitting if he bottoms out.

its so incase he bottoms out, the reverse arch doesnt hit the frame

I think its about time manitou dropped the reverse arch. Its not doing them any favours.

All valid comments. I never thought about the possibility of the reverse arch hitting the frame but I suspect that it's more than likely set up like that to keep the front end even slacker considering how steep and technical the course is.
