honda made the DH bikes for their motor cross division, they wanted to test new technologies and decided to get in the MTB game. Once they did all the research they needed to do, they scratched the whole thin and destroyed all the bikes so then no one would find out what they were doing. It was all about the gear box and how you could shift without pedaling.

Your wrong there about the gearbox, You couldnt shift without pedaling. inside it was just a mech and cassette really nothing else. and they stopped making them because there is no longer a team. They had a 3 year contract for the G-Cross team and after that was up then there was no need to make the bikes anymore.

i dont know bout the whole melting them down or destroying them shit, if they did it was a f*ckin waste there are pics of the inside of the gear box and how it works, besides that it was patented so as long as they didnt sell the design or give rights to other companies they were in then there is no big deal, besides gear boxes are in lots of things this is just the first one on a bike
