best pic on pinkbike full stop
sweet shot les, you should definatly get pod with this. expecially with dans riding skills and your camera skills! was excellent up setters that day.
That's one great pic...
The rider's good, but you're amazing with a camera!
Good work man
Oh, and loving the shirt ;-)

cheers, i think the kids are missing the point saying shit pod etc, the guy in the shot is drifting into the berm at high speed, he is covering the brakes, but not on them, i think they would be bigging it up if it was sam hill! which ive seen many a shot of sam like this!!
I normally despise the right turn POD's, but this dude has incredible form. This shot is simply kick-ass!!
I don't think most of the kids here have a clue what drifting is tho , most would call a skid a drift ,no clue about entering a corner too fast and Having to drift to get around it, Class 'A' shot
wow here we go again with sketchy dh riders ,pinkbike should stop puting on gay gay dh photos
and put on more slopestyle
and put on more slopestyle
i totally agree!, there is way too many DH POD's!, i admit DH is great fun, but pictures are boring!, big up the slopestyle and dirt jumps POD's!
Well I agree it's a nice pic, but its not that good, it could be much better. bikel4if, dh pics are awesome, your just retarded (I'm a DJ rider btw).
Mad skills. Sick shot again Les. Massive props to the rider, once again we have riding skills to match the photography skills.
Lescart: "i think they would be bigging it up if it was sam hill! which ive seen many a shot of sam like this!! " Yeah but sam turns up anywhere in the world and can ride 50x better than this guy - it's not about the photo with Hill, it's about respecting him as an acomplished rider. This guy's shredding his local spot - big-whoop, most locals shred their own trails, it's commonplace. I bet he's taken this corner 1000x before. Dont try to back up your buddy by comparing him to sam hill, because sam hill he aint.
What shite, i have the most respect for sam hill, and any rider for that matter! whats with all this bitterness? also if i want to back up my buddy and anyone else for that matter, thats what im gonna do, the comparison was in the shot only.
I like it. The drift looks pretty average (and of course there's no way of telling how fast he's going, but by the fact that he's clearly got his eyes a ways ahead of him I'll give him the benefit of the doubt), but the fact that he's kept his foot on and dropped his knee like a GP rider to get the weight down instead makes this photo! It takes confidence not to have a foot down for an emergency dab, and if you've ever tried it you'll know that you have to lean so much harder to make up for not having the weight of your foot pulling you down, and then you have to worry about counterleaning the bike a bit to stay on the sideknobs! But it seems by the knee pad placement on his Thor pants that his position was no accident. That said, not to take anything away from this guy but I'd really love to see someone just take the GP style all the way to the extreme with their chest on the bars and their knee all the way out! Imagine this picture if the guy was like that, and the corner was just as tight, but 180 instead of 90 (same speed though), and the guy's eyes were pointed right back up in the direction he came from!!!
norcoisthebestbikeever I hate it when people ask for neg props but they always get a bunch of positive props. Not this is gonna get neg props. I garentee it. Maybe ill spel som thigns wrong den i get neg props. an dats how you get'er done.

There's 365 days a year, get over yourself...just because there's no 20 drop or 40 foot gap makes it not inspiring? this pic still makes me want to put my fist through my work computer, quit, then go for a crazy session.
hahah this is a pathetic pod, like everyone else is saying "nothing special" "not pod worthy", i got moaned at a while back on a pod saying stuff like i just did, and in the response he said something like..a pod is supose to be inspiring and make us go out there and ride, but this just makes me want to go to sleep! and you can all feel welcome to neg prop me, but this is my opinion on this photo!
i completely agree, so you have one + prop
Just take a look at the "Recent Favorites", you can see many pics that could be pod. However it's a nice pic, but far away what i call pod quality. sorry

There is a good chance that it was me that said "the POD is supposed to inspire me to go riding or try a new trick." I had no f*cking idea people were actually paying attention. Thanks dude!!
how is a high speed 2 wheel drift not inspiring? it inspires you to push your cornering that little bit further and get every second out of the corner that you can. nice pod i say...

exactly the kind of comment that holds this site back from being as good as it could be.....there's just too much negativity and shit talking. it should be a non stop celebration of biking and how incredible an activity it is, instead this site has turned it into a non stop pissing match. dirt king, could you drift a corner like that?
Like one kids statement / opinion is going to hold pinkbike back form being as good as it could be. What will be your next mission -nate-, saving the world? They are called opinions for a reason, some may have no reasoning behind them. None the less they belong to the owners, are you going to police everyones opinions on pinkbike? or just shut up and enjoy the site.
if it was one kid it wouldn't be a problem - it's 50% of the posts on every pod. That's the problem.
i think that if you have negetive opinions you should keep them to yourself
people come to pod to look at the pic and give props to the rider and photographer
if someone came and said to one of your pics
your style sucks shit your not doing anything good here go home you suck ass
i dont think youd have much self asteem left to go and try another shot
just like we learn in kindergarten youngings
if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all

negative opinions are a part of life. They challenge you to do better. without negative opinions we'da ll end up living like smurfs tripin out on shrooms all day long thinking it was a wonderful world..blissful ignorance is great. But this is reality and this pod BLOWS.
-nate- and gentman1, i agree with everything you said. it wouldn't be as bad if the people leaving negative comments were capable of the riding and photograph quality needed for a POD, but most of the time they aren't, shame really that they feel they need to leave a negative comment to feel better about themselves.
exactly dubproof - I also agree with the others that a lot of the negative comments on this site are often uncalled for, but do we want it to be a big mutual masturbation session? Pinkbike, and this fact is becoming more and more obscured with all the bullshit ads and needless crap which has appeared over the past year or so, is (or at least still partly is) a photography site. Photography is meant to be open to critisim to a degree. It's not just *snap* "oh that's nice!". What are we, a bunch of 5 year olds?

PHOTOSHOPPED!
Plus he's not actually riding, it was a staged shot! If you look closely he set it up up so he would fall over, the photo would be took right befur he fell, so it looks like hes drifftin da tERN!
nice try but you ain't foollin me!

It is far from staged... look under the right foot/// left in the shot. You see the dirt movement? It is the real deal my friend, so just because you can not drift do not assume that others can not.
Haha, that has to be the funniest comment I've ever read! Mobilechernobyl - go back to your cave little boy, back to where you belong...
Nothing special, but he is bootin'er pretty fast through that corner. It is one of the better turning photos I have seen on here. Props to the rider and picture taker.
How could anyone say something bad about this photo??? so much negativity people, there is another pod tomorrow if you don't like this one just calm down, it will be ok......
take a few deep breaths, count to 10 and then reconsider saying something useless and negative or not.....
mobilechernobyl- what are you talking about dude he was about to fall? this is a serious natural drift, come check the rider out for yourself!

i don't like this POD...

Please...

this is amazing riding and a sick picture- would be even better if there was a bit more to the background though- then it would certainly be one of the best pictures on the site.
mate im saying if it had more to the background, i.e contrast etc. it would be one of the best, still a good shot though.

Yeah. With it's competiion. This defo isn't worth POD.
Is a great shot none the less.
Greating riding skills to.

Thing is that's what makes this pic special - he isn't 'riding' the berm, he's drifting on the flat on the inside, and that my friend takes a lot of skill...
and he aint riding it that well either. He's drifting it, not flowing. went in too fast and isnt gonna carry the speed. what not to do on a berm
no hating going on. Just saying it aint pod worthy and pointing out why i think that. Sure the quality of the photo is good..lescart always nails the photo....but he may as well have taken a shot of a guy sitting on the can....theres nothing exciting happening in this pic, and what is happening isnt great riding.
it's a crisp, clear pic with the rider dead center and the entire frame is in focus. The berm slips the pic and while the move may not be the greatest, the rider is pulling a move, remember POD is about the picture itself as much as it is whats going on. If your so special lets you you on POD, go learn about photography with your spare time this is a great action shot fool.
This isnt about me and my photography skills. Its about the POD. Its not a great shot. Its a boring action shot. There aint a hell of a lot going on. So he's drifting a berm. It really aint that great a drift, or berm...and justbecause someone is idead centre of a shot hardly makes it a great photo. learn to read what I wrote... and not to interpret it how you like. Its a crisp clear shot....sure. I said that. I even said lescart's a great photog. But not every shot he takes is pod worthy. It's all about the shot and this isnt a pod-worthy shot. No need to insult me. Shows a little insight into how you think when you feel you need to insult me to make your point more effective.
Anyone, including little kids can slide around on the ground. I should go take pictures of my 9 year old cousin doing the same thing
i feel honored you would spend time arguing w my comment, though I dont care enough to try and make "whinge" over me
does anyone think he came out of the corner on the bike? he is feeding it so if he didn't crash that is sic

i know im gonna get neg props for this but i think pod should be based more on the difficulty of the riding. i think that we should get more dirt-jumping and slopestyle pics. dh pics are cool but they get boring.
OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OWNED!!!!! is all i can say
Just palyen awsome pic and shot POD ty
