I think this could end up being POD the pic has nice scenery and the rider is using the most of his suspension!!
back to the dh shots,but a good one makes you feel the course shows the tech and theres been good pod variety lately.

Am I the only one who noticed the fact that the dead pine tree in the background has a kink in it? The spruce in the foreground has one too, but it isn't quite as noticeable due to the fact that it has bushy branches. Looks like the photo was tilted and then the trees in the background set vertical to make the trail look steeper than it actually is.
It's a crisp photo, and I understand that most shots these days have some photo editing with colour modification or cropping, but to try and deceive us by tilting and the "straightening"...That's lame.

no squadouche its just part of the fish eye lens thing. it will make a natural curve look like a severe curve/kink
woah, i agree with roberm. block out that tree with your hand and tilt your head a bit sideways and you can see how he could take relatively flat terrain and make it look steep. im not saying for sure that it has been done but it would also explain why the rider doesnt seem to be leaning too far back on his bike and there isnt much compression in his forks.

calling you a name was my favorite part of my comment too! i am rad and hardcore....sweet. ive shot with some fisheye's in my day also and if you catch a curve at the edge of the lens that is going the same way as the curvature of the "fisheye" then it makes the curve look severe...however, i could be wrong, at least i got ur panties in a wad squadouche

i was at that race and (for the people who are saying tilt your head and squint) it actually is steep and the rocks are gnarly big! his suspension is probably on the rebound or still in the process of compressing.
also, to those of you saying hes not leaned back far enough, you dont have full control over your bike when you are in the safety position and your front end can wash out way easier, therefore his forward position shows that he's a good rider and knows what he's doing.

i agree with "ash-isnt-hear-right-know" , all of the PODs are DH and full susser stuff, its like this site is turning into pink-downhill instead of pinkbike, i agree that some of the DH pics are nice, but common, its getting boring!

Ive gotta disagree. Its all about the photo, because it is photo of the day. This is a sick picture and the riding is great aswell. I see no reason why pics like this should not be pod worthy. It doesent matter weather it is dj, bmx or downhill. Its all riding so its all good!

oh another local rider. tbh saying dh pods are getting boring is very rich seeing as all u guys seem to do now is park and trails. im just startin to get back into freeride/dh now that i have my full sus running. just apreciate the great photos...its not like ur paying for them

No it's a V10, I had one I know what they look like. For example the v10 has a very rounded frame, where as the M6 is very straight angled. It even says SANTA CRUZ on it. It's a v10.

pod dosent have to be some fancy insane trick that a guyy can pull off. pod can be a guy standing there over beautiful BC mountains and scenery. this is definatly pod worthy. sure it may not be "showing off any skills pic" but the scenery makes up for it and makes it a beautiful pic. as stated in the last post
