Maybe cut out the rider and lighten up that but keep the sky the same?

Ye, the clouds are a bit merged and wierd, its my first tries at edits so..

What you need to do is modify the picture so that the rider is perfect, and then use a layer mask to hide the sky on the modified layers. That way, the ride/foreground are brightened up, but the sky is left in its original colour.
