flag pperini (Sep 5, 2008 at 5:41)
he has a poin tho...people used to buy Horses because of the DW and some because of Sam hill, and of course because it is a great bike, but, tell me something, do you still have any reason now to buy a Horse if it doesnt come out with the DW?...imo its just pointless to buy this bike now that its now 100% exclusive anymore...the 2008 and older models made the owner proud of owning the bike, because of the campionships it had, and because of the great bike it was, but its not like that anymora, the shine they had is gone, and so are the IH buyers...

flag audeo03 (Sep 5, 2008 at 9:27)
I worked at a shop that sold Iron Horse, and I can tell you, their quality is crap. Without the DW link they will fall out of the high end market...
  • + 3
flag audeo03 (Sep 5, 2008 at 9:33)
Looks like it will preform well but I see a couple of issues. One, there are so many little bits in the "rib-cage" I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of failures in the first few versions despite all of the analysis being done on the frame. Secondly, if you ride it in wet conditions at all, your rear shock is going to have a much shorter lifespan...
  • + 1
flag rffr (Sep 5, 2008 at 14:55)
Dude audeo do you have any idea of how strong machined aluminum can be? The tubes are going to break before the yoke.

I ride in wet conditions with a tomac mag 204, the most notoriously mud accumulating shock destroying bike and I have yet a problem. Its called panty hoes or stockings...

IT LOOKS LIKE TURNER COPIED THE FRONT TRIANGLE FROM 2008 DEMO 8. SO DISAPPOINTED! BUT I LIKE THE DW LINK AND THE QUALITY AND DESIGN OF THE REAR TRIANGLE MUCH CLEANER THAN SIMPLE THAN DEMO 8. CAN I SWAP THE DW LINK FROM DHR TO DEMO 8............?

looks awsome, but will weigh a lot more after each run with all the mud we get in the uk - has a very similar looking downtube to my banshee wildcard and will no doubt have the same crap-collecting properties too in all that cnc'd stuff. I wouldn't have thought it ideal for a dh RACE bike if its gonna pick up a couple of kilos of mud by the end of each runSmile

iron horse sold all their high end stuff to randall scott company, an online distributor, and is bowing out of the high end market. they're going to be making department store bikes and that's it. i know this because i reaped the benefits of the blowout sale and got hooked up with a brand new 7 point and bought a mk3 comp all for under 3 grand!

It will not work. All the pivots on the DHR are located on this spider web kind of thing, which cant be stiff enought to avoid felx from the swingarm...

Turner can implement the DW-Link better than anyone, they are not your typical Specialized, Kona, or any other mass produced bike out there they are one of the best bike manufacturers out there right up there with Ventana. This thing will be sick, I am planning on replacing my 06 DHR with this frame.

How is that rear ends link to the rest of the frame going to fair up to lateral forces?
Not to sure how long that back end will last before it cracks in those machined areas.
Other than that it looks sick, love the machining.
