Almost all of the show bikes at Interbike are built with whatever the company can come up with the fastest. Don't take what you see on a bike to be representative of what will actually come on the bike when it goes into production.

I disagree, they are trying to show off thier new bikes and they should have them built up the way they are selling them. I work for a bike company and all of our bikes at Interbike are the same as they are in the catalogue and how they will be shipped to the consumer.
Dont get me wrong, I think the frame looks great. Those graffics are really nice, but they need to up the spec for the XC crowd. I hope youre right and they were just in a pinch and threw on what they had layin around the warehouse.

If this is the production spec, then perhaps they're trying to give the rider a good deal for the future. Spec'ing medium-range parts on a high-end frame allows the user to later upgrade his or her components while knowing that they already own a nice frame.
