soo ugly.
even if they are ugly, I've ride one and as I think, it's really light, but I don't like the sound that it makes whan a rock or somethins hits the frame, it sound empty and a bit....breakable. If someone would give one of these, I would take it without hesitating.....to sell it right after
I dont know why everyone is comparing this bike to walmart or supercycle its NOTHING like those clunkers! The looks of a supercycle hooligan looks very much like a Brodie Devo.
hey ,shockwave is a amaising frame, unic shape, boomproof ,strong ,very light and 9.5 of smooth travel so...try it ! and seriously supercycle hooligan ;P that is a scrap!

i totally agree with steve!
Take a a demo for example... oh wait... they doesnt ride good... my bad xD XD!!!

demo's suck as race bikes. specialized has always had shitty race frame. the demo is heavy as hell and doesnt ride or pedal worth a shit. its like trying to race a semi truck against a corvette. and as for this. they still look like SHIT. personally i still believe a good race frame is a v10 or maybe the new turner. light. manueverable, fairly short wheelbase. idk thats just me
Why don't we see anyone racing them? Better yet, why have I never, ever seen one with my own eyes, . . . and I have been around in the biking world.
the only thing i like about the frame is that it looks in destruckable but if u think about it its a thin layer of metal and its one big frame so it isnt indistruckable
i wouldnt race on that
i wouldnt race on that
I'll give him a break because he is just 15 or whatever...
I just don't like it when people try and explain complex structures and do their own 'arm chair engineering' when they have NO idea what they are talking about. I am in second year studying Aerospace Engineering, and in three more years of hard studying, maybe, just maybe, I will know a little bit about the subject. It takes years of experience you know…
And to Kmart'kid', monocoque structures such as this frame are notoriously strong for their weight. Many, many, designs in all aspects of engineering take advantage of this. Look at many composite airframes for example... Like this bike, they are "konstruckted" in the style of a single shell with relatively sparse internal reinforcement. All your loads are distributed in the skin or shell. This creates a strong, ridged structure, but any dent or crack can lead to a catastrophic failure.
This is different from a usual frame where individual tubes act as trusses to transmit loads throughout the frame.

I'd have expected Mountain Cycle to come up with some new designs by now. Their range of bikes haven't changed for such a long time. I know people will say "if you have a great bike, why change it?" - but they should be at least trying new ideas...
The colour scheme here doesn't seem to be doing it any favours - check it out all in black; it looks a lot better then.
