really? that's going to be pretty rad, i don't think the bikes makes a whole lot of difference these days. it's more of the rider's skill, so there's a high chance sam will still be on it next year
this bike marks the end of his career i think. when he raced for intense he was bad, then as soon as he got onto the DW link he was amazing. he should be going to Turner or Cove and stick with the DW link.
but it is one amazing looking bike.
marks the end of his career? Hill's gonna be around for years to come yet. He's not going to be got rid of that easy. Look at Peaty, in his thirties and still going strong. Hill is early twenties....
its because Steve Pete has found a bike hes good on, the V10. its just what i think, if he sticks with specialized just because there paying him more, his performance is going to suffer. from going to a lightweight, DW link bike to a heavy Demo with FSR.
I don't think thats a legitimate reason to end his career. The demo has never really been given a good ratting on a downhill course. Look at how stylish and good Romo was on his Demo, maybe Sam Hill riding the Demo is what specialized need to make a proper bred downhill machine.
I dont get the whole 'it's a demo' arguement. If he had moved to Ellsworth or Turner people would have said the same. By the time Sam's contract runs out the Demo will be a completely different bike.
Im not sure if you have ridden a Demo 8.....i have and they are not a race bike and do not ride quickly like other dh race bikes. I can agree with "if he moved to Ellsworth people would have said the same" but i totally disagree about the Turners as they are race bikes through and through with a race heritage from day one. I have no doubt that the Demo that Sam will be racing on in 2009 will look nothing like the one pictured above other than may be the colour.........all im saying is that the current Demo (as pictured) isnt a competitive World Cup race bike.
Maybe not, but I think that's why Sam is there. I completely agree that the Demo as it stands is not a World Cup race bike, but specialized have the funds, and now the riders to establish themselves in the downhill market.
when sam goes to specialized isnt he gunna ride the demo for now but is going to develop a better race bike with specialized? i dont know if its right..but just stuff ive read..
"Im not sure if you have ridden a Demo 8.....i have and they are not a race bike and do not ride quickly like other dh race bikes." well ive owned a glory and ive owned a demo raced on them both, and really i could find a diffrence in ride performance.. the demo being lighter than the glory was the only advantage to it. but they both were the same when it came to pedaling, braking etc..

What heppened is that ironhorse is out and not around anymore, so sam hill needed a new sponsor. ironhorse had an issue and isn't around. so specialized picked up sam
well he's half right, although there still around. there done. without the DW link the company is nothing more then a supplier for sports mart. who's going to buy a bike from them now? they have nothing over any company.
nope, there is other links other than the DW. IH will come up with something else, whether it's something along the lines of the DW but a bit different. I think there's talk of the VPP, but who knows.
ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww who ever thinks this bike is nice also thinks there cosion is hot and they wanna fuck them
this bike is sooooo nice!!! and btw that argument above about the ellsworth turner thing is bollox!!!
sam culd ride any bike and still win it doesnt matter as soon as hes used to the bike hell be better than ever!!
Actually. Sam Hillis with specialized now because they pay more and Ironhorse lost the DW link. And so now the sunday wont ride the same. The DW link was a big part for ironhorse now that they have lost it ironhorse might go under buisness because there bikes wont be as good.
iv ridding a demo 7. its probly one of the nicer down hills iv ridding. iv ridden a glory 0 too. demo is really just a nice light bike. the susipsion system is really responsive too.
that is nt sam hills 09 bike cause if u have a look at the paint work on the bike that he is riding on the home page of pinkbike u will see tht bike looks nuthin like his one that he is riding
dude, that is one hell of a bike, looks amaing. i was talking to the guys at the specialized dealership and they said there is a big chance of a sam hill signature model being released sometime in 09!!!! cant wait
how is it epic? that makes no sense. next time try amazing or beautiful. if people are going to keep using that word at least use it in the right place.
