You know, carbon fiber is light strong and fairly new, but I'm not sure that i trust its strength for biking like downhill or more intense XC. I want to see some testing of the frames strength before I'm convinced its a good frame.

ya i agree, also if one single chip gets in the frame the whole thing is f*cked basically cuz it will lead to a MASSIVE crack eventually snap

It's the same as alu, if you scratch or dent it deep enough, of course it will crack, but it can be woven to be very strong and stiff. I think it's pretty amazing to get a 6in travel bike at just 26lbs.

I guess specialized are stupid for wasting their time on a carbon fibre demo DH bike. It'll be here in the next few years... shhhh Wink

Carbon fibre can be woven plenty strong enough.
Its just not great at taking impacts.

is it just the top tube and seat stay that is carbon fibre? or is the whole frame and the rest has paint on it?
