Nice and crisp
I love this pic cause its hard to make out the where the lip and landing are, looks like he's boosting out of nowhere
Who gave me neg props? Let me see your crap black rims and hubs. At least this guy has a style. Nice bike dude. Keep it ripping man.
@ Xtreem... flashy shiat like that is actually fashion not style, style is how you do things, not how you wear them... makes me sick that this world cant figure that out...
you can have badass style, but ride a suuuper low-pro bike, and it stands out waaayyy better than super high-profile crap and crappy style... same deal in every other action sport
this guy has some of both... which is fine IMO

id love to see the uncompressed version. looks epic. if theres a link to a full res version, i would be forever in debt to you if you could give it me, my desktop is needing some life =P
very nice marriage of lights... natural bloomy light of the landscape, and hitting light on rider. That's nice

For the POD decision process I think the Pinkbike hamster takes lsd and then chooses the picture that has the fluffiest feeling colours that most remind it of its mother...
Seriously though, this is a great picture and definitely POD worthy

What DOES make you cool then...?
It certainly doesn't involve posting on Pinkbike that's for sure...!
Personally i'm pretty convinced nothing MAKES you cool, its just a by-product of getting on with your life, being decent and NOT trying to be cool - shame SO many people get that wrong.

if you just look at it closely, i mean, the photographer must have been world class, with the best camera ever, and the lighting must be perfect, plus you look a little less fuzzy and more illuminated than the background. i am not saying you are not good but it just looks photo shopped to me. sorry
how could it be photoshopped? look through his album and you will see many pics of this jump, and i doubt he could be bothered to photoshop all of them
i do levels, cropping and unsharp mask only, cos canon cameras (which i use) are known for slightly soft images in camera. Thats all the shopping mainly.
lescart:
what ISO and shutter speed did you use? to freeze both the rider and the dark scenery must have been difficult... even with the remote flash... unless you worked with the levels and exposure in photoshop or whatever...
ony other way i could think of would be taking multiple exposures on one negative using a film camera... and this definitley doesnt look like film!
killer pic regardless...

I always do levels in photoshop, i exposed for the rider with the flash, but as some riders were in black clothes and some were in brighter outfits, the riders looked sligtly different to each other. I think i used 200th of a second and moved the camera slighty to follow the rider, hence the backround soft, but obviously the flash froze the rider. The iso was quite low 200th or so, it was brighter than it looks, but remember i exposed for the rider with flash.
cmon dude, work with me! look below the rider behind the stump and you can see the flash blasting out, this flash is balanced to look as natural as possible, but to freeze the moving rider.
