Most memorable crash of the day (AND SEASON!) Sure is amazing how much you laughed with us afterwards.....your a trooper Joy!
Honestly if I was on flats I couldn't have bailed fast enough. This was one of the fastest smack down crashes I've had over the bars.
as I commented on the other picture you are my hero and I know it had nothing to do with the pedals . Get well .
HA --- I was just talking about this with some of my MTBR buds and one of the guys here on PB.
I don't care what ya say. I think being clip'd in is better. crashes are crashes... ask me, you're more likely to crash because you have platforms than you are because you have SPD's.
I use TIME Z's, I can't remember the last time I crashed because something went wrong with my pedals. I can however, remember several times I crashed because I slipped off a platform pedal.
The only time I wouldn't want SPD's is doing some sorta stupid tall, way off the ground, elevated skinny or through a silly twisty-turny DS type trail.
I'm not into the big stunts, I just ride and have jumping and slammin' through rock gardens, rough XC stuff. I used to do that stunt stuff when I was riding motorcross and had the power band to help get big air. Powerband? man, I'm I dating myself or what? I bet half of ya don't even know what a powerband is.
And looking at that photo, I can say this. There's been a few times I saved my bike from smashing down on its side thanks to my SPD's. With my cat like reflexes, I was able to hold my bike up long enough so I could gain some control over the bike before it hit rocks...
I'm not trying to convert anyone, to each his own. There's plenty of pro's and con's with both.
I will say this though. I think those Shitmano pedals suck. TIME's are way better .... err ahh, If you ask me.

so clipless is dangerous i dont care what people say, you have to lern how to unclip quickly if u need to, just so much easyer and cheaper to run flats, and there lighter, normally
It's all preference. Some of the fastest guys in the world are clipped in!! Greg Minnar, 2008 World Cup Champ!?! Even if I was running flats during this crash I was going over the bars regardless. Not sure why everyone is so hung up on the fact I'm clipped in? It doesn't change the outcome...eating sh*t. If I wasn't clipped in on some of the courses I've raced in the past I know I would have crashed from not being able to keep my feet in place (even with good peds & sticky shoes). Being clipped in for ME is best. I do plan to try out flats to see if I like it, but I don't think people who run clips should get so much crap for it. People crash..PERIOD. Glad you all like the shots regardless.
Good Lord, will you guys PLEASE read a little before posting?!?
SHE has her fingers on the bars.
SHE uses clipless pedals.
SHE has a nice helmet.
I can't believe folks don't take the time to glance at other posts before spewing their idea of input all over this and other sites. It's the internet equivalent of waiting to talk instead of really listening.
